Daniel Radcliffe on Harvey Weinstein

Actor Daniel Radcliffe has described the sexual harassment and assault allegedly committed by Harvey Weinstein as “disgusting” and said he hopes the revelations will change Hollywood for the better.

“I’m in awe of them. I am very grateful to them for coming forward,” Radcliffe said, referencing the dozens of women, including Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd and Angelina Jolie, who have come forward with allegations against the disgraced producer. Radcliffe never worked with Weinstein but said he met him “a couple of times.”

“People shouldn’t want to sexually harass people in the first place, but hopefully this moment can at least prove that if you do have that urge you will not get away with it,” the former Harry Potter star told TIME during a press event for his new movie, Jungle. “I don’t want the fear of being caught to be the thing that makes people not sexually harass people, but if that’s what it takes… If there is something positive that can come out of all this awfulness then it will be that.”

Radcliffe added that “weird power structures and hierarchies” exist across many industries. “The hierarchy of the film industry is something I’ve always thought is bullsh-t — to use a technical term,” he said. “It’s something I’d definitely like to see change.”

The actor, 28, said that working on the 2016 comedy-drama Swiss Army Man was the only film he’d ever worked on “with no hierarchy on set.” “The directors had been to college with most of the crew, so everyone was old friends. It was like, this is what filming should be,” he added. In Radcliffe’s latest role, he plays the real-life Israeli adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg, who found himself lost in the heart of the Bolivian rainforest in the 1980s.

What Daniel Radcliffe Can’t Live Without

If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what famous people add to their carts. Not the JAR brooch and Louis XV chair, but the hand sanitizer and the electric toothbrush. We asked actor Daniel Radcliffe, whose new film Jungle opens Friday in select theaters and On Demand/Digital HD, about the jeans, workout shoes, and protein bars he can’t live without.

Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong, by Angela Saini
: I always have to have actual books — not out of any sense of snobbery over an e-reader, but it’s just that I need a piece of paper in front of me. I noticed that learning lines off a computer takes so much longer for me. So when I travel, it always looks like I’m smuggling books. Right now, I’m reading this fantastic work of nonfiction about how gender biases have affected how science has treated women. I’d highly recommend it.

Speed Stacks Sport Stacking Set: This is a lifesaver. I actually can’t live without these. Have you ever seen the documentary abut the kids who do speed stacking, Stacked? It’s basically like Spellbound only with stacking cups. I watch practically every documentary I can on iTunes. So I saw the film and became really into the idea of stacking cups, because it’s apparently a skill that you’re the best at between the ages of 8 and 14. I loved it so much my friend actually got me a set and now I’ll practice all the time.

Quest Nutrition Protein Bar, Cookies & Cream, 12 count: This will sound weird, but I can’t live without Quest bars. When I was doing Jungle, I sort of felt like the character had been lost for a while and not eating a lot and so it felt wrong for me to be eating too much, so the Quest bars were one of the things I allowed myself. I was having a filet of fish and one of those bars a day. Some people are like, “Protein bars taste weird,” and I get that, but I’ve been eating them so long they’re actually good to me. I like the cookies-and-cream and the chocolate ones. What you do is put them in the microwave for 20 seconds and crush almonds or pecans on them, and then they’re a delicious treat. Or you can cut them into mini squares and stick them in the oven.

AEO Extreme Flex Skinny Jean: Jeans are particularly hard to find for me, so most of the good jeans I’ve had have actually come off of sets I’ve been on. I’m five-foot-five and have been for a very long time, so it means I have accumulated a lot of jeans. Right now all I wear is a pair of American Eagles that I got off the set of Imperium.

Asics Men’s Gel-Kayano 23 Running Shoe: I’m obsessive about working out in the morning. I never thought I’d say that, but I actually enjoy the gym, if not at the time I’m there, then at least after I’ve done it. I think this pair of trainers is for running, but I wear them for everything.

Durham’s Bee Propolis 500 mg 120 Capsules: Everyone is always complaining about plane travel doing something bad to them, and I travel so much I feel like I need all the help I can get. I was in a play earlier this year, and everyone in the play was taking it. It seems to be working? It definitely did stave off any feelings of a cold I had during the run of the play. Is it actually bee shit? That’s what I need to know.

Steve Buscemi replaces Owen Wilson in Miracle Workers

Daniel Radcliffe has a new TV show, in case you didn’t know, and the always excellent Steve Buscemi just signed on for the best role, that definitely has us more interested in this series. Buscemi will join TBS’s upcoming comedy series Miracle Workers to play Radcliffe’s boss, also known as God. Here’s what we know about this role so far, and what it means in regards to previously reported news on the series.

As some may know already, Steve Buscemi’s role of God was already promised to another high profile actor in Hollywood, Owen Wilson. As confirmed by TVLine, Wilson has exited Miracle Workers, but as of this writing, no reason has been officially given as to why the actor departed the project, but an anonymous source claims the decision was indeed Wilson’s to exit the series.

In any case, Buscemi is now in the role and prepared to play God, who has “checked out” and is focusing on his favorite hobbies that he’s passionate about, as opposed to anything involving the plight of humanity. As one can imagine, that causes some problems for humanity, and it’s up to a low-level angel by the name of Craig (Daniel Radcliffe) to answer humanity’s prayers.

New Jungle Clip

In this scene, we see Daniel Radcliffe (Yossi) carving a parasitic worm out of his own forehead with a pen-knife. Totally the stuff of nightmares.

Dan on the Simpsons

The annual Halloween episode, “Treehouse of Horror,” will also deliver this season. “We have what I think is the scariest segment we ever did,” said executive producer Al Jean. “I don’t want to say more.” It’ll also have a 3D parody of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline called “Coralisa,” which features Gaiman as the voice of the cat. In another segment, Maggie will become possessed and The Exorcist star Ben Daniels will voice the role of the priest. “Maggie says, ‘You’re all going to die,’ and Marge is excited,” said Jean, “because it’s Maggie first words.”

There will also be plenty of big name guest stars throughout the season. Daniel Radcliffe, who has already played the son of Dracula and a boy who enjoys falconry, will cameo as himself in an episode about Bart using Sun Tzu’s The Art of War to destroy Homer. “They go to a Minecraft-like convention and Daniel is there wearing a costume,” said Jean. “That’s how people like him go to conventions without being seen, and Homer unmasks him, and he gets torn to shreds.”

The Simpsons will return to FOX on Oct. 1. Treehouse of Horror XXVIII episode airing Sunday, Oct. 22, (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Dan sings in the Walking Dead Special for Robot Chicken

In The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking, which premieres on Adult Swim on Ocober. 8, Glenn does indeed find Maggie, in a skit called “Happy Glenndings.” And without spoiling the particulars of the comedy, we’ll just say that Glenn’s final words are oft-repeated, and they also form the narrative for his post-Negan attack life with Maggie in the sitcom-within-the Robot Chicken special.

Old Man Carl, as well as younger Carl, is voiced by TWD star Chandler Riggs, who’s joined in the special by co-stars present and past, including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jon Bernthal, Lennie James, Steven Yeun, Scott Wilson, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Rooker, and Josh McDermitt.

Both Green and Senreich say Lincoln may have enjoyed recording his lines for the special the most, as he fully embraced everything, from Rick’s scenes with a frisky unicorn to Rick’s attempt to come up with a new name for his group of friends and family.

Dan also guest stars in singing the Terminus song you can hear his voice in the chorus.
