Straight to BluRay for Germany

This feature film will be released directly to Blu-ray Disc on the 27th of October 2017 by the copyright holder Splendid Film. “Jungle” is in the lead role with Daniel Radcliffe, who once again proves his ability as a genre performer. The other roles are filled with Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell and Joel Jackson. “Jungle” appears on Blu-ray Disc in the conventional Keep Case as a standard edition with a 1080p, AVC encoded picture material and a German DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. The bonus material will be announced at a later date and can be read in our film database.

I also created a group on Facebook for Jungle so if you are interested in the film all info on it will be posted there.

Jungle opening for the Melbourne International Film Festival

Daniel Radcliffe joins Wolf Creek director Greg McLean in the Bolivian rainforest for a gloriously tense survival thriller based on the bestselling real-life story of adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg.

In the early 1980s, 22-year-old Israeli backpacker Yossi Ghinsberg and two friends – Swiss teacher Marcus Stamm and American photographer Kevin Gale – set off from the Bolivian city of La Paz on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. Leading the way into the uncharted Amazon was an Austrian expat named Karl Ruprechter, who had met the friends just days before and claimed to be familiar with the region. But their dream trip soon turned into a wilderness nightmare from which not all of the men returned.

Adapting Ghinsberg’s acclaimed memoir, Greg McLean moves beyond his previous horror fare to take on an altogether different kind of fear in Jungle, all the more potent for being true. Daniel Radcliffe continues pushing his post-Potter career to the extreme, ably supported by Alex Russell (fellow MIFF Premiere Fund title Cut Snake, MIFF 2014), Joel Jackson (Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Dracula).

Scripted by Justin Monjo (INXS: Never Tear Us Apart) and supported by the MIFF Premiere Fund, Jungle is a stunningly shot, edge-of-your seat story of survival and self-discovery.

New Behind the scenes from Swiss Army Man

Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Local #706 displayed Jason Hamer’s work and a few new images from Swiss Army Man. We had five weeks to build and I was still trying to wrap my brain around the nonsensical list of needed make-up effects. My breakdown read something like this:

Motor-butt Manny (a rideable dummy propelled by farts)
Mechanical four-way cable-controlled boner mech
Hyper realistic Manny butt plumbed with air
Lightweight hero Manny dummy (with interchangeable head and hands)
Heavy-duty Manny dummy
Hank’s bear-mauling make-up

Early meetings consisted of bizarre requests for a hyper realistic butt of Manny. “We want it hairy, plumbed with air and to film it with the Phantom camera (at 2000 fps) as it explodes out of the water.” And “How should we do the boner compass?”

At one meeting, the Daniels acted out the opening sequence where Hank rides Manny through the water to the beautiful score by Andy Hull (from Manchester Orchestra). This was the first time I ever had the opportunity to listen to a director’s vision for a film while the soundtrack was playing. It was then that I understood the emotional content they were trying to convey.
