Dan featured in Hello’s Kind List

He’s known as one of the nicest guys in entertainment but has also used his Harry Potter earnings for many philanthropic endeavours. Daniel is vice president of children’s hospice Demelza, a charity that provides end-of-life care to young people and which he says is “close to his heart”.

In the past, Daniel has also received a Hero Award from The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention charity helping LGBTQ people.

“He’s aware of how much he means to so many people and takes it upon himself to operate in the world with grace and humility.” Karan Soni, Daniel’s Miracle Workers co-star

His co-star Karan Soni opened up about working with the actor on comedy series Miracle Workers, telling HELLO!: “Daniel Radcliffe is everything you want him to be. Like many others, I grew up watching him and found myself quite starstruck when we first met. Dan instantly relaxed me with his kindness.

“He’s aware of how much he means to so many people and takes it upon himself to operate in the world with grace and humility. His passion for acting hasn’t dimmed after all these years of doing it. His work ethic is infectious and it is only surpassed by his capacity to care for others.”

Book Review: Living Dead Girl
Living Dead Girl Book Cover Living Dead Girl
Kelly Gunderman

In this young adult thriller perfect for fans of Pretty Little Liars, Thirteen Reasons Why, and Sadie, a teenage girl is about to find out how far would she will go to get revenge on those who have taken everything from her.

When seventeen year old high school senior Kaitlyn Davis is almost raped and then brutally murdered at a party by three boys she goes to school with, she uses her dying breath to swear that they will pay for what they’ve done. When she wakes up the next morning, she is a bit blurry on the night before and gets a big surprise - she’s alive? How?

Soon, things start getting weird - it seems as though no one can see her or hear her, and no matter what she does, she can’t seem to feel anything, such as temperature. She can still move things around and touch others, and the room suddenly drops about suddenly drops about thirty degrees wherever she is, but why?

That’s when she is forced to accept it - she’s dead. At first Kaitlyn grieves the loss of her short life - there are so many things that she is going to miss out on, so many things that she will never get to do. But then she gets angry, and she remembers her promise to get revenge on those who had taken her life.

Setting out to give them what they deserve, Kaitlyn has no plans to stop until she gets the revenge she desires.

My Review: I didn’t have enough time to read much of it. But from what I did read it started off as two friends that enjoyed each other’s company and a bit of a hidden secret that Kaitlyn hid from her friend Dana. I am hoping to read more soon.

About Kelly:

Kelly Gunderman was born a child of the late eighties in small-town Pennsylvania. A bibliophile in her own right, she is hoping to one day surpass the number of pages she has turned with those she has written of her own accord.

Having recently completed her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development, Kelly suddenly found herself with a bit more free time than usual, and began her immediately successful foray into blogging and Freelance Writing, which subsequently led to her renewed desire to finally put her ideas and imaginings “on paper.”

Focusing primarily on the Young Adult genre, Kelly’s first novel, Finding Me, was published by Swoon Romance, and she is currently working on putting even more stories on paper.

She currently resides in her original home town with her husband, their two daughters, and a few cats that constantly challenge the sanity of all with their ill-advised attempts at what can only be assumed to be world domination.

Set in the year 1844, Miracle Workers Season 3 will follow an idealistic small-town preacher (Radcliffe) who teams up with a wanted outlaw (Buscemi) and a liberated prairie wife (Viswanathan) to lead a wagon train west on the Oregon Trail across an American landscape which, much like today, is fraught with both promise and peril.

No news of when filming starts or a release date but we will keep you posted.

Keep Me in Sight Book Cover Keep Me in Sight

A night she can hardly remember. A night she will never forget.

It’s about Dan.

These three words jolt Brynn back to the big boozy night she spent with her boyfriend Dan. The same night his ex, Erin, showed up. Erin says something terrible happened that night. Dan says he never touched her. Trouble is, Erin has evidence to prove it.

Brynn can vouch for him though. She was there that night that they can hardly remember, but will never forget. While Brynn pieces together her fractured memories, lost that night at the bottom of a bottle, facing the horrifying possibility that maybe Dan isn’t completely innocent. Maybe he’s guilty as charged.

But as Brynn inches closer to the truth, she begins to wonder: Who is the predator? And who is the prey?

Gloria knows the answer. She’s a psychic who turned her back on her ability after she failed to prevent a terrible tragedy. As her painful past floods back to her, can she learn to trust her gift again before it’s too late? Or will her painful past hold her back from saving someone’s future . . . and quite possibly their life.

This addictive and suspenseful thriller explores the fault lines between broken memories and shattered trust, and will keep you up well past your bedtime.

REVIEW: As I read “Keep Me In Sight” it reminded me of old times. Friends hanging out together and just having a good time. When Erin enters the picture and ruins Dan’s deployment party things become interesting. You think what happened to them and how they broke up. Erin seemed nice, but she also had a creepy aura. Was she telling Brynn the truth about what happened between her and Dan or was it all a lie. I have yet to read the actual truth, but look forward to completing it. I love the what happened or who done what. It’s truly one book you won’t put down.

About Rachel:
Rachel is an American expat, living abroad since 2008. She lived in Sydney Australia for a number of years, Italy, Switzerland, and has sailed over 11,000 nautical miles, crossing the Indian Ocean three times and sinking only once. She’s the proud granddaughter of two World War II fighter pilot war heros. Richard ‘Blackie’ Blackledge was a WWII B-17 heavy bomber pilot. Post war, he became a successful writer. And George Jensen flew the dreaded B-29 superfortress. They both lived on well into their 90s.

“I lost two special friends, and the world lost great men, but they’re both with me still, sending me pearls of wisdom from the great beyond, telling me over the roar of the engines to: ‘Pick up the pace or you’ll get your butt blown off!’

“Okay, maybe that’s not them. But it’s still good advice.”

Rachel lives in Singapore with her husband, baby boy, and rescue pup named Jessica Shadow Shady Lady Lauro.

Harry Potter Leicester Square Statue

The statue of Harry Potter has finally been revealed on Leicester Square’s Scenes in the Square Trail. The statue is of Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard in the scene where he first takes flight for quidditch. He’s been sculpted in bronze, just like his Leicester Square co-star statues. He occupies the north terrace of the very same square where the movie premiered back in 2001. Harry Potter content has also been added to the Square’s pre-exiting audio tour to coincide with the statue’s unveiling.

Harry will be poised on his Nimbus 2000 until July 2023. Pictures are posted in our gallery.

New Layout

New layout for October. I know we are a week away,. If the layout looks familiar its because some of the content from daniel-radcliffe.org was donated to us. The site is no longer in service so we got the themes. Many thanks to Gemma for the name change in the graphics and a few glitches along the road.

Leicester Square Statue

The monument will depict a scene from ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and will form a part of Leicester Square’s existing ‘Scenes in the Square’ trail – joining the likes of Paddington Bear, Mary Poppins and Mr Bean in the heart of London.

The Statue will be revealed late September and will coincide with the start of Inside Out Festival, which is bringing cultural activities to the area’s streets from October 1.

From Magic to Real Life

New interview from El Sol de Irapuato it talks about Escape from Pretoria in a phone interview with Dan in London.

About Escape from Pretoria

“We are living in a time when it is important to tell the stories of people who have heroic qualities to be celebrated, of people with enormous courage, but who at the same time have great principles and sacrifice so much for their ideals. That’s always something important as an actor,” Radcliffe tells via telephone from London.

Dan devoted three months for preparation to learn the South African accent and the escape plan. Here’s what Dan had to say about Tim Jenkin.

“We talked a lot about what it meant to grow up in South Africa and how the social awakening to apartheid was. He told me about the day-to-day protests, what it was like to get to prison and the step-by-step escape plan; that helped me get practical details of how and where he hid the tools to sand the wood or the technique to do it, among many other things. It was very rare to hear all these stories coming directly from him” ” he says.

Here’s a new video of Dan talking about Escape from Pretoria.

WHEN THE OCEANS RISE...THE TRUTH DROWNS

The year 2031. Our future. Their present. A world ruined by climate catastrophe, where the sun's heat kills and the oceans rise higher every day. A world ruled by the wealthy and corrupt. A world where a good man cannot survive for long. Hogan Duran was a good man once: a good cop, forced to resign in disgrace when he couldn't save his partner from a bullet. Now he lives on the fraying edges of society, serving cruel masters and scavenging trash dumps just to survive. But Hogan's ship is about to come in. He's invited to join the National Security Council, the powerful paramilitary organization that protects the ruling elite from the uglier elements of this new society. All he needs to do is pass their deadly entrance exam, and Hogan will be rewarded with wealth and opportunity beyond his wildest dreams. But this ex-cop's path to redemption won't be easy. The NSC are hiding something, and as Hogan descends ever-deeper into their world, he begins to uncover the awful truth of just how the elite in this new society keep their power¿and how far they'll go to keep their secrets. In a world gone wrong, can one good man actually make a difference? Or will he die trying?

Review: From the start of this amazing book things start off kind of slow. You see that Hogan is not really a hero. He was an ex-cop who was down on his luck and doing anything to survive. It’s not until Hogan gets to the NSC that things start to get interesting.

I found this book has a lot to offer. Things just kept getting more interesting as you dig further into it. There’s a lot more, but I will let you the reader find out what happens next. If you like the end of the world type of books this one is a real winner.

Thank you SDR Followers

Many thanks to the ones who contributed to our gallery I meant to put this up yesterday but life is kind of chaotic at the moment. So thanks to those 5 precious angels who saved our gallery. I added June 23 candids to the gallery. Will add more soon.

Also I decided to leave the fan fiction section as is until at least the end of the year. I am hoping something or someone takes over and picks up where the admins left off. Sure I can add my writing to Wattpad or somewhere else but it won’t be the same. This was our archive for our site. So for now it will stay where it is.

I’ve also been thinking about reorganizing the gallery. But still thinking about that for now I will be adding and updating old pics with new ones. So there’s food for thought.

Vanity Fair Q and A

Dan and the cast of Miracle Workers appeared at the Variety Streaming Room via at home to discuss Season 2 and how they navigated keeping the spirit of the show within a new setting.

End of an Era for Efiction

The time has come for our fan fiction site to go. Reason is that the efiction software that we use is no longer up to date. The site that hosts the current version are putting their site up for adoption and by the end of the year the site and software will be null and void.

Our site became famous when Graham Norton showed our fan fiction site on his show to Dan. So it will be sad to see it go. However, I’ve been contemplating what to do for a while now. I was thinking maybe using PDF’s or WordPress for it with links to all the stories. The question I leave for the current authors is would you like your story integrated into this or removed.

Leave a comment or email me. If I don’t hear from you your story will not be added. It will be deleted.

This will NEVER happen again...until the next day against the barn door. Why can’t I stop seeing him? It will never work. We're complete opposites. Enemies with benefits is a thing, right?

REVIEW: This book had you on the edge when Amanda slips into Noah’s bed things are steamy but when she realizes its Noah and not Luke. She is beyond surprised to see his reaction. I liked this story cause you never really knew if this was some fling or if it was something more. I won’t spoil the end for you, but it really was a good read. Rebecca put a lot into this and you could tell. I hope I get to read more from her collection soon.

About Rebecca:

She has backpacked alone through India and Brazil, traveled by cargo boat down the Amazon River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored ice caves in Peru, trekked to the source of the Ganges, and sunbathed in Burma, but she always likes coming home to a cold beer and her hot husband in the Bronx.

DAN RESPONDS TO J.K. ROWLING’S TWEETS ON GENDER IDENTITY

June 8, 2020

I realize that certain press outlets will probably want to paint this as in-fighting between J.K. Rowling and myself, but that is really not what this is about, nor is it what’s important right now. While Jo is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken, as someone who has been honored to work with and continues to contribute to The Trevor Project for the last decade, and just as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment.

Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I. According to The Trevor Project, 78% of transgender and nonbinary youth reported being the subject of discrimination due to their gender identity. It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and nonbinary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm.

I am still learning how to be a better ally, so if you want to join me in learning more about transgender and nonbinary identities check out The Trevor Project’s Guide to Being an Ally to Transgender and Nonbinary Youth. It’s an introductory educational resource that covers a wide range of topics, including the differences between sex and gender, and shares best practices on how to support transgender and nonbinary people.

To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you. If these books taught you that love is the strongest force in the universe, capable of overcoming anything; if they taught you that strength is found in diversity, and that dogmatic ideas of pureness lead to the oppression of vulnerable groups; if you believe that a particular character is trans, nonbinary, or gender fluid, or that they are gay or bisexual; if you found anything in these stories that resonated with you and helped you at any time in your life — then that is between you and the book that you read, and it is sacred. And in my opinion nobody can touch that. It means to you what it means to you and I hope that these comments will not taint that too much.

Love always,
Dan

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Behind the Scenes

Watch the process of how the Interactive special came to be.

Today Show Australia

Daniel Radcliffe speaks about his new film, shot entirely in Adelaide.

GMA Network Interview

Where are you isolating these days and how are you dealing with what’s going on in the world?

I am in New York right now. I’m in an incredibly fortunate position like I’ve got a lot of friends who are either isolating or quarantining alone right now [because] I’m with my girlfriend which is lovely, you know. I’m very, very grateful for that.

Also, we are not having to try to home-school children or entertain children 24 hours a day, which seems it would be very, very challenging. So yeah, we’re in, you know, everyone is safe and healthy and staying indoors so, yeah, we’re okay. Thanks for asking. I hope you’re well too.

Are you finding yourself doing different things? How do you keep busy?

Well, I’ve done a lot of Lego. It’s very good, passes a lot of time and is sort of meditative. You get to make a cool thing at the end. I recently built a “Jurassic Park” and a “Stranger Things” set with Lego.

I’ve been doing like a lot of reading, and yesterday I finally did some writing. I have been trying every day. It has been a thing of getting up and thinking that today is the day, do something productive and I haven’t really for the previous however long it’s been 6 weeks or whatever. So finally, I felt a little bit productive yesterday so hopefully more of that to come.

Talk about your relationship with Kimmy Schmidt and being part of this unique interactive episode?

The filming of it was tricky for lots of people, namely the director and the script supervisor and, costume and make-up having to remember where everything was at every moment but for the actors, all we had to do was learn all the various versions of the scenes.

Beyond that, it wasn’t really – the burden of responsibility of making sure that we were in the right timeline every time was not on us so much but I loved it. I hadn’t seen anything like that before.

I was a huge fan of “30 Rock” and Tina Fey. It’s this style of comedy that I love and it’s all these tightly wound, very like thoroughly plotted out things but there’s also a joke every 10 seconds and it’s the kind of writing that I could never do myself. So I’m in awe of it and I love watching and getting to be a part of it. It was so incredible.

What are you discovering about yourself during this lockdown? Are you learning how to cook, paint?

I definitely am not one of the people who have learned any new skills in quarantine yet. I have a lot of respect for anyone who’s like learning to sew or bake or any of that stuff, that’s very impressive. I have not done any of that.

I think I’m finding out about myself that for about 23 hours of the day, I’m pretty okay staying inside. At first it felt slowly inhibiting, but now I’ve settled into a rhythm and also we’re incredibly lucky that we’re here together.

We have got very little responsibilities during this time so all we have to do is stay inside and keep ourselves entertained so that’s good.

How do you find time for yourself since you are isolating with your girlfriend right now? Do you go to another room?

I don’t feel the need for it that much. We both like to read a lot so when you’re reading and you’ve got your head in a book that’s quite like “me time.”

You mentioned you are doing a bit of writing. What type of writing are you doing?

Attempting to write scripts. I know every actor is also writing scripts on the side now so it’s something that we all seem to be wanting to do but I would love to be able to write and direct a film. They are in the realms of slightly dark comedies and so hopefully one day, I’ll get to make one.

Come Home, Indio: A Memoir Book Cover Come Home, Indio: A Memoir
Jim Terry

This powerful graphic novel shares the author's journey of discovering his spiritual home as a Native American. From a childhood in suburbia, disconnected from his identity as an Indigenous person, through an urban adulthood marked by a struggle with alcoholism and the death of his parents, to his life-altering experience at Standing Rock, he begins to find a new sense of self as a Native and as an American.

Review: This book was surprisingly a format I never read before. It was comic book style and with each illustration it told me about Jim’s story growing up. Its was really fascinating to learn about him and his life as he grew up. I found his story was really sad with the loss of his older brother. There is a lot more in there, but you must read this for yourself. If the story doesn’t move you the illustrations will. I wanna thank Jim and Liz Frances for introducing me to his memoir. Review : This book has been fun reading learning of how Morgan gets infected and the changes she goes through. She seemed like a normal high school girl with typical high school problems. I loved the chemistry of how Van took interest even though he had a hidden agenda. I think most readers will love this book its an interesting take on Vampires the ones you don't hear about. The Puritan take on things well that was something new to me. I never heard of vampires like this, but it was interesting to learn about it. Most horror movies show how Vampires are evil, in some cases yes they are but in this book they are practically normal. Though there is a hidden part you learn soon enough. I really liked this story it was really different and different is good. If you like Vampires and want to read something different try this one you will love it.

When Helsing Incorporated sends Van to La Jolla to investigate the local coven, Morgan is his prime target. Pretending to be interested in her, Van asks Morgan out and puts her through a series of tests to determine her killer nature.

Morgan is thrilled to be dating a hot guy like Van and falls for him hard. As Van strings Morgan along, he grows increasingly guilty. Morgan is kind, compassionate, and a gooey romantic. Review : This book was from the get go was heated, you could see the wheels turning in Addie's head from what she was going to do. From the start Addie needed a big favor from Sawyer and even though he was kinda cruel he did as she requested in return for an IOU. It strings you along to want to read more. It was straight forward and very intriguing.

When a beautiful brunette driver meets Nashville Slammers catcher, Sawyer McBain, at the airport, he figures it's his lucky day. Sure, he's usually pretty guarded around people, especially after what happened with his ex, but he can definitely enjoy the car ride. Until she passes his apartment...and keeps driving. All of a sudden the woman seems a lot less like romance material and a lot more like a kidnapper. What gives?

Slammers executive Addison Carlisle needs one little favor. Sure, she may have kinda maybe kidnapped one of her professional baseball players, but it’s for a really good cause. She desperately needs someone high-profile to auction off that night for the multiple sclerosis society she’s chairing, but he insists he wants a favor in return.

Soon Addie and Sawyer are trading completely ridiculous I.O.U.s, like being his plus-one to his grandmother's poker game or keeping each other company at the driving range. But when their agreement goes from flirty to fiery, neither is ready to let their guard down for a shot at love.

Review : What can I say about Charged that hasn't already been said well. It's a story about a woman who was practically a total mess. She wasn't the supermodel type but she did seem like a woman who knew what she wanted. Roc the Alien split into 4 beings which in all reality was just him was a bit confusing at first. I did find it kinda weird not really understanding like Bobbi how he explained things but I soon understood with reading a bit more. Charged is definitely a story that will leave you with more questions than answers. It was hot, sensual and down right sinful. The science part of it was spectacular about light years, wormholes etc and the supplement they ate without having to eat anything. That was amazing. This is definitely a story to read if you’re into sensual and passionate literature. It will leave you breathless.

Description :

Bobbie Flemming was having one of those terrible, no good kind of days.

Her boss yelled at her because of something a co-worker did, her sometimes boyfriend was getting engaged to another woman, and she wore two different shoes to work. To make matters worse, she agreed to be in a charitable “most eligible” auction for her friend Chuck, who won’t speak to her if she doesn’t show up.

Bobbie doesn’t feel most eligible, and she definitely doesn’t feel like going on a date with someone so desperate they have to win her in an auction. But when two of the hottest men on the planet, who happen to be twins, show up and outbid everyone, Bobbie thinks she’s won the lottery. Until the one in charge opens his mouth and she realizes he’s bat sh*t crazy.

Now, Bobbie’s being whisked off, without her consent, to the middle of Central Park — and what is that — a spaceship?

This was how Bobbie finds herself stranded on an alien planet, with not two, but four incarnations of the same man. (They do that on their planet, it’s like their thing.) And all four of these hot alien males think Bobbie is their fated charge mate. All Bobbie knows is she didn’t sign up for this. Sure, the sex might be awesome, and the guys might be super-hot, but what does it take to get back to Earth where everything is normal, and there aren’t Emperors who want to kill her?

Description :

This powerful graphic novel shares the author's journey of discovering his spiritual home as a Native American. From a childhood in suburbia, disconnected from his identity as an Indigenous person, through an urban adulthood marked by a struggle with alcoholism and the death of his parents, to his life-altering experience at Standing Rock, he begins to find a new sense of self as a Native and as an American.

In Jim’s own words:

The idea is that this book might be a hand reaching out. Perhaps one might chuckle at the recollections of an 80’s pop culture child, or identify with the often polarizing nature of being biracial? Maybe someone who’s been knocked around by intolerance, and toxic masculinity, or who has struggled with addiction, will hear a voice from someone who has been there too, and is doing “okay” now.

Review : Your first glance at the book, gives you a flashback from the past as it starts off with the beginning of how Daniel Radcliffe, became from a child through stardom from the Harry Potter Franchise to the man he is now. Reading through the book, gave you a look back on everything Dan has accomplished since Potter. It explains all the things he’s been through to get where he is now. It does mention things we all remember with listed sources of where each piece of information was mentioned. I ask you not to judge the book by its cover. The book refreshes your mind on not only reliving everything we’ve come to know. But more further on what’s to come and what we look forward to seeing such as Frankenstein, You Shall Know Our Velocity, Gold and Brooklyn Bridge. The book is 280 pages and is hard covered without the paper back cover its completely black with the title on it. There is a couple of pictures of Dan in the book ranging from Potter to the Cripple of Inishmaan. Each film mentioned give us a look back on small tid bits from each movie. Such as Kill Your Darlings and when Dan wrote under the name Jacob Gershon when he was younger. Whether it be things that happened on set or the friends Dan made though each film such as Dane DeHaan and Anna Wood. In how their relationship developed into a beautiful friendship that they have now. In closing it mentions What if, Horns, Frankenstein, You Shall Know Our Velocity, Brooklyn Bridge, Tokyo Vice and so forth giving you information on what each film is about. And a quote we often heard Dan say many times before, “I got very, very lucky when I was eleven.” For me reading through it gave me a look back on everything we’ve read, heard or seen in the years since Potter. Even the dark phase when Dan went through his drinking and how it didn’t affect his acting. I’d like to think this book is a keepsake on all the things we’ve come to know about Dan. Sort of like a look back to all the trials and tribulations one can go through and Dan has been through a lot. Not everyone in life has a happiness in their life but to overcome that is What Dan has shown us. You gotta get back on your feel and overcome it. Some of us fans, have had those days. In short, this book is about Dan’s career and what he went through as a person.

Review : When I first read this I was expecting it to be something similar to other books I have read like this but this one took a different direction. It has a lot of action and intense parts which really made it worth reading. I did like the twist to it about James and Ryan's connection. That took me for a 180. But make sure you read this one. I really liked it and I know you will too.  Jenna put a lot of details into it and that is what made you see everything clearly.  I recommend reading this one absolutely.

Review : This book was really different I don’t think I read anything like this. Mel is in Clan Kale with a Kale Pendent. She has two brothers Victor and Gabe. She has planned to compete in the Agora. But when she gets home she is attacked by an unknown man. She had no idea who he was or what he wanted. This book was kinda cool it was family based so it wasn’t too bad. Though I think the terms used could of been more explained and I guess that was part of it that was a bit hard to understand. Though there was a glossary at the end so you might want familiarize yourself with it first. I haven’t finished it yet but it seems to have promise.

Melanie Mendez of Clan Kale isn’t sure if she believes in angels, but she’s pretty sure she’s not a descendant of one.

Her grandmother, the Elder of Clan Kale, would beg to differ. Her brothers, Victor and Gabe, would tell her to shut up about it and just do what she's supposed to do: fight. Specifically, they want her to follow The Ways by participating in the Agora–the annual gathering where the seven clans compete for honor.

But Mel has never been one for competition, and the other clans have started to take notice. When she narrowly avoids being killed by a mysterious man the night before the Agora, she can't help but wonder if the other clans have judged her according to The Ways: as a traitor.

One way or another, this Agora is about to turn deadly.

In the beginning Calliope Grey is a regular student going through the trials of every day school life but when her parents find out she likes writing more than doing her homework. Her parents send her to boarding school only its not the kind they think it is. Ecrivain Academy is not your typical school. There’s more that lies ahead. I found the book to be my kind of genre. Review : Everything under the sun was about Thais and her father and blind sister who lived in a apocalyptic world facing challenges and being caught by a group who seemed so vile you were scared for your life. The World Atticus lived in was a whole new order to the world lead by men so cruel and evil. They treated women without respect. Though the story was heartbreaking at time it was a brilliant read. It was original and totally led you into a world you would never imagine. I absolutely loved the character development as Thais encountered Atticus. The story was truly powerful and had filled your heart with sorrow and the need for action. Thais brought Atticus his very much needed heart back than what he was heading into a man without heart without a care for anyone or anything. The lost of Thais’s sister was very painful and the lost of her father as well. If not for Atticus I think Thair would have been doomed to the world that she lived in. Jessica the author really had a way of writing that I thought was brilliant. She really did evolve the characters and made this world a reality to the reader. There was much that could have been said about Thais’s blind sister and the sickness that was mentioned. But I think other than that it was really good. This book has to be added to your summer reading list I loved it.

Description :

Thais Fenwick was eleven-years-old when civilization fell, devastated by a virus that killed off the majority of the world’s population. For seven years, Thais and her family lived in a community of survivors deep in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. But when her town is attacked by raiders, she and her blind sister are taken away to the East-Central Territory where she is destined to live the cruel and unjust kind of life her late mother warned her about.

Atticus Hunt is a troubled soldier in Lexington City who has spent the past seven years trying to conform to the vicious nature of men in a post-apocalyptic society. He knows that in order to survive, he must abandon his morals and his conscience and become like those he is surrounded by. But when he meets Thais, morals and conscience win out over conformity, and he risks his rank and his life to help her. They escape the city and set out together on a long and perilous journey to find safety in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Struggling to survive in a world without electricity, food, shelter, and clean water, Atticus and Thais shed their fear of growing too close, and they fall hopelessly in love. But can love survive in such dark times, or is it fated to die with them?

Review : When asked to review this book, I was definitely interested in reading it. So I am gonna be giving you my review on Harry Potter Places Book One: – London and London Side-Along Apparations. This book is in pdf format and about 309 pages long. This book included a wealth of information not only on the Harry Potter filming locations, but a little bit on London and a huge resource of links for every single reference that was mentioned. If your planning a trip to London or the Harry Potter WB Studio Tour at Leavesden this is what you should take with you at all times. I highly recommend it. Glancing at the first several pages there are several Potter terms used, as well as tips and references to London living. If your from the states like I am you’ll wanna read this. Featured in this book are also features to other attractions and tours around the London area. As you head deeper into it, the filming locations are discussed with pictures a sort of before and after of how it looked before it was filmed and after it was filmed. Each location mentioned has a real interesting mention about what was changed or added to the location for the filming of Harry Potter. In each location times and directions are given on how to get to each place and the duration of how long it will take to get there. In this guide there are 18 site entries for Potter Places within central London, and 10 site entries for Potter Places in the suburbs of London, 28 sites in all. It very informative and you will be intrigued in reading it. Toward the end of the book the Harry Potter Studio tour is mentioned with detail and the Harry Potter Theme Park in Florida. If your a Potter fan and intend to visit London, I suggest you get this to walk in the steps the actor’s did while filming the movies. You’ll get to relive it again even though the films are done. I hope you liked my review and visit the site I did this review for.

Review : When Christos sent this to me early this year I wondered what it cold possibly be about though he only sent me a few pages I found the meaning of a special child was not one with special powers but one with autism who had special abilities his parent’s didn’t understand till the end. I really thought that was a twist. Never thinking it was based on someone with autism. Christos though not a published writer leads you to understanding that just because a child is autistic doesn’t mean they aren’t special. Review : The first day I got this I read through it real fast I had to stop myself. I have to say this book does not disappoint. It had everything lust, fire and a man who knew what he wanted but always kept his lovers at bay. Jake Dalton (Movie Producer) was an incredible character. He was strong, built and virtually unstoppable. His brother Max (The Director/Actor) was the latter. Fun, easy going and playful at times. But Charlotte our main character from first sight knew that Jake Dalton was pure trouble. At times she even loathed him not wanting to get close. This story was a roller coaster ride it kept you on edge and I have to say I really loved it cause it kept you wanting to read more. That for me is a sign of a good book.

Review : Julia was a little girl and she had almost drowned when she is saved by someone unknown. When she grows she finds a friend in Ronan who is a selkie who belongs to the sea. There’s more to Ronan but I will let you read that yourself. This story has the true heart of romance and being soulmates. I loved this one because even though they tried to take Ronan away from her memories her heart knew he was a gentle kind soul. They had grown to love each other and he was the only man she ever loved. If you like romance and people who are destined to be together then you should definitely read this though reading this I really felt it flew by. I was really that intrigued by it. It did not disappoint.

Review : When I first read the description of the book, I thought possibly it might be a book somehow based on Harry Potter. But it wasn’t. The story was at first kinda interesting talking about candy bars and Jack and Yani’s relationship reminded me a lot of what friends should really be. Able to talk to your friends about what ever was on your mind and them not judging you on anything you did. But having fun with it. It was kinda funny too at times because of some of the dialog that Jack and Yani had with their friends was hilarious. I found myself laughing on some of it. Some of the references mentioned actually made the story more enjoyable than i thought. But the relationship between Yani and Jack was heartwarming too. When Yani disappears you can feel Jack’s grief and it made you feel sorry for the character. It made you want to see Yani and Jack end up together. Cause not only did he care, he really missed her. The book was truly a good story to read and I had fun reading it and would definitely recommend it. If you love anything to read based on love, friendship, candy bars, Harry Potter and Twilight than this book is definitely for you. You can purchase the book through amazon, here’s the link: Jack and Yani love Harry Potter. And you can also read her series, Saga of the Spheres which is Mary’s fantasy fiction series it was downloaded over 9,000 times in 2012 and is being promoted at Comicons across the globe. Review : When I first started reading this I didn’t know what to expect. I remember seeing way before the novel about Yossi’s journey on a television show called “I Shouldn’t Be Alive”. They cut it down to what really happened. But what I’ve read in the first few pages was his journey on how he met Marcus and Kevin. How they bonded and became friends. There’s a lot of details in the book that I didn’t get to see in the television show so reading the book gave more insight. We often think would we be able to survive in that kind of environment. Not I. But Yossi’s strength to survive is what is miraculous. The pages of the book from the beginning were like fun and good times with fellow travelers. Marcus really sounded like a nice guy. The kind of friend who would help you out when you needed it. Later on as they travel to the jungle you find out how their relationship is affected. How they didn’t have much food when they were traveling having only one meal a day. They were literally starving. With no food and having to survive in the jungle eating chicken, monkey’s, sloth, a goose and rice. Marcus lost weight not eating while Yossi and Kevin ate. Karl never complained as they traveled. Their long journey from one village to the other gave them hope in the beginning. But when Karl kept mentioning that they were almost there. Things changed and so did Marcus’s friendship with Yossi and Kevin. The book has many details and its been very intriguing as you read page after page. I really liked getting to know Yossi, Marcus and Kevin. Though I kind of wondered what Karl’s real intention was. We’ll never know, but the things Yossi did to survive. For me the most frightening part of it was the sound of the Jaguar. Now that I read the book and seen the TV show it gave me the entire picture of what happened. I really liked it. I would like to thank Rockstar Book Tours, Skyhorse Publishing and Yossi Ghinsberg for giving me a chance to review this. If you’re curious about Yossi’s journey on his survival in the Amazon Rainforest get the book.

Review : Luna Kayne’s Kill Code is one of the most intriguing books I ever read. It had mystery, romance and suspense. Luna did a very good job describing the settings of this book. The way she envisioned the surroundings of the compound and the details of Jessa’s lost memories. I was really taken away by the story line. It carried a lot of emotions for the reader to endure some that were hard to experience as well. Jack’s dedication to Jessa was just beautiful the way he kept her safe. The hardest scene in the book was the torture bit it was really emotional and I think if you’re light at heart it can really touch you in a way that you can feel bad for Jessa and just want her to fight back. I really liked this book and I think anyone who picks it up will love it.

Review : Like Never and Always was a very good book it tells of a story between friends and how one life was affected. While I do not want to post spoilers. I think readers will enjoy reading this one it makes you want to read on to see what will happen next and for me it did. I was never bored with this one it was a mystery to me and wasn’t predictable like some novels are I loved the concept but I like how everything came about. The romance part of it was subtle and passionate. Even though Clay was portrayed as he was it really seemed like he was a gentle soul. That I found priceless. If you like mystery and trying to figure out who did what this is a book for you. I would recommend this book absolutely.

Review : When I first got the book I saw the first few pages I thought wow this book is so well put together with descriptions of each of the groups you would encounter as you read. I thought that was a cool way to start off a story. With the introductions of Jemma and Apple well being how young they were it brought me back to my youth. The descriptions of the place for example Holly Wood and how each region was broken up was a really interesting set up. I found it sad though in how their lives were set and how they never really had a chance to grow up. As for the disease in how it affected families was really sad and the lost of Zee. This book was one book I recommend you read. I don't know why it made me think of Lord of the Flies but it did for some reason.  I really think young readers will enjoy this book.    Please add Mayfly to your summer reading list.

Review : Having not read the first book which I suggest you do before reading this one will leave you with what is going on as it starts with Lera and Coal. I knew as much there was a confrontation but not knowing why until I read a bit more. I found out that Lera was human and that she was in training and they were traveling to a place they needed to get to. River and Tye come into the picture and then everything begins to unfold.. The author has a way with words that much is true. Her writing is unique to say the least and once you familiarize yourself to her style you begin to understand. I absolutely love the cover it was very colorful and represents Leralynn perfectly. This book is filled with intense moments please consider reading it.

Review : The story deals with Ellie, Cole and Dean and how their lives revolve around each other. I don't want to post any spoilers for new readers but learning Ellie's secrets was it for me. Her character for me was what I thought was way more interesting than the cure of Dean's lisp problem and Cole. I wanted to learn more about what happened at Remington Prep and why was she afraid of water. After a dose of Narcosis, Ellie is no longer the person she used to be. It was such a unique story one I think every reader will love. How the power of Narcosis could changed everything.

Ellie Savage is used to promises. Her dermatologist dad and her psychiatrist mom run the Narcosis Clinic, a medical facility famous for ultimate makeovers, where disturbing issues are resolved while patients are beautified. Clients like pop star Dean Mathews are grateful to narcosis for healing their deepest wounds. Ellie is her parents’ most ardent supporter until her dreams become a nightmare. Ellie discovers that her true self has been shredded to bits by the scalpel and the only way for Ellie to remember is to forget everything she thinks she knows.

"The relationship between Cole and Ellie is absorbing (it's indisputably a mutual affection) while the twins' dynamic--they're supportive but playfully combative--is likewise effective. The plot eventually spins into thriller territory but shrewdly incorporates themes of parenting and self-confidence. Cypress' prose throughout is colorful: a crowd getting into 'a ginormous frenzy' and Ellie walking 'in a fog of convoluted memories and migraine medicine.' Well-defined characters in a zigzagging medical tale rife with surprises." --Kirkus

Review : This book is a timeless piece, a guide to what woman went through back in the old days. If you want to give yourself a history lesson this is one way to do it.

No Nice Girl Swears is the original, trailblazing guide to the “new etiquette,” brimming with timeless advice on style, romance, and grace, and finally back in print 90 years after its original release. Forewords by today’s editor in chief of Town & Country and the editor in chief of Vogue from 1914–1952.

Heralded as the go-to guide for soon-to-be debutantes and ladies who’d recently made their debut, No Nice Girl Swears ushered in a “new etiquette” on its release in 1933, much to the shock—and delight—of the high-society crowd of jazz-age America. Today it is equal parts time capsule (how to dress for dinner on your transatlantic voyage) and timeless missive (how to ditch a date who’s had a few too many).

Worldly-wise socialite Alice-Leone Moats advises on everything from style and dating to travel and party throwing, and weeds through the dos and don’ts of weddings, weekend trips, and the workplace. Her wisdom, though steeped in the charm of her time, endures: treat others—and yourself—with respect, always put your best foot forward, and don’t throw a party without champagne. It’s just good manners.

This keepsake volume includes a new foreword from Stellene Volandes, the editor in chief of Town & Country, the original foreword from Edna Woolman Chase, Vogue’s editor in chief from 1914–1952, and a contextualizing preface. It encourages consideration of what etiquette rules we’d like instilled today, and shows how Moats helped usher in a world where women could speak—and act—freely.

A full-length documentary and 52 short-form episodes expand the profiles and delve deeper into the essence of what it's like to be a Disney cast member. On a Thursday in 2019, a small army of photographers and videographers scattered across the globe to capture what goes on beyond those tantalizing "Cast Members Only" doors - whether eavesdropping on historic endeavors or typical tasks. All the photos in this book were taken on that single Thursday, beginning early in Tokyo and following the sun around the world through Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, Madrid, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and dozens of places throughout the United States. More than 40 hours after it began, the day ended as the sun set on the Aulani resort in Hawaii. On that day, some 80 Cast Members agreed to open up their workshops, dressing rooms, kitchens, cubicles, TV studios, labs, locomotive engines - and some even more surprising and diverse work spaces. They also shared their stories: childhood dreams and chapters, career pivots and triumphs, workaday hurdles and joys. It was just a day in the life, as extraordinary as any other day at Disney. As any Cast Member can tell you, a Disney job is less a destination than a limitless journey. And for just One Day at Disney, we can all tag along for the ride.

Review : Having just received it less than a day ago. I started reading it this morning and from what I read so far it has promise. I find that Vincent the main character is a man to be reckoned with only that Reese is not taking the bite. He likes her that much I can tell. But there's more to it. I haven't got that far so I can't tell you much but its an interesting read.

What happens when your next door neighbor is the hottest, most notorious playboy in all of South Beach?

She screws up her courage and heads to Vincent Ferguson’s office to find out what all the women in South Beach already seem to know about him.

Once CEO Vin Ferguson’s tech company goes public, he’ll have proved he’s no longer the poor, gritty kid from the wrong side of the tracks. But, citing his bad boy reputation, some financial backers waver, and his friends suggest dating a more respectable woman to improve his image. Ridiculous. Because delectable but snooty socialites, like his next door neighbor, are way out of his league.

And then, Reese walks through his office door and makes him an offer. To say his jaw hits the floor is an understatement.

And he can’t believe what she just proposed...

Review :  I read this one pretty quickly and it was pretty good. Most novels are only ever written about thin women so this one was a good plus. It wasn’t offending and was well written. There were some shockers in it. But considering the nature of the content everything fit in together nicely. I have to say this one was really good. I loved it.

Review : When I first read this story I had no idea what to expect but it was a really cute story and although I am not a dog lover the dog in the story made it complete. Rome and Natalie had great chemistry from beginning to end. It was like you knew they belonged together and their relationship was better than that of her ex-husband. I really liked this story I thought it wouldn’t be great but it was. Nina Crespo’s writing style was on point. She gave everything the story needed. Its definitely a read for any romance lover.

The key to good is found in truth.

Genevieve may have left the circus behind in Oregon, but there is plenty of show still to come.

When she and Henry land in France, they are whisked away to Croix-Mare, the home of Henry’s grandfather, Nutesh, where they will prepare for a journey they never could’ve imagined. Now that they have all three AVRAKEDAVRA texts—Life, Death, and Memory—the books must be destroyed in the Undoing.

However, it’s not as simple as taking the books to their birthplace in Babylon and setting them alight. Genevieve and Henry must rely on unexpected allies as they embark on a harrowing global search to acquire pieces necessary to complete the Undoing. They’re offered cover and protection by La Vérité, the secret network of followers devoted to the message of the AVRAKEDAVRA, who, not surprisingly, are found under the big top—because no one does underground quite like the circus.

But loyalties among the magical community are fragile. Genevieve, still grieving the loss of her mother, now struggles to control the new AVRAKEDAVRA-bestowed gifts, and with mounting threats to her psyche and body, she clings mightily to the promise of a brighter future once this is over—if they can survive it. And Henry, broken by his father’s treachery but entranced by the heartwarming connection his family’s text has granted him, grapples with the fact that once they succeed in destroying the books, he’ll lose the only family he has left.

Together, our two young heirs will learn that when hope has abandoned us, the overwhelming love of friendship and family is all the magic we need.

Review : When reading Sleight you get lost in the awe of the circus. I myself as a child loved the circus and what captivated me most was the elephants of course. Sommersby visualizes every aspect of the characters along with the animals. She really put a lot of attention to detail which made you see everything as if you were right there with Genevieve, the main character of the book. The book was a tale that made your inner child come out. Though the sadness and the lost Genevieve experienced was really a tragic blow to her world. She felt lost and with that you can sense the sadness and the pain Genevieve is going through having no idea the mysteries that are to come. I think Sommersby really wrote an amazing book. Her author’s note gave you more about the mythological aspect she wrote about. To me that is the greatness of being a good author. To do the research and to led you into an adventure to find one’s own family history and the character’s supportiveness when times were dark. For me I liked the connection between Geni and Baby even though they weren’t related it was almost like they were. Their ability to rely on each other when something happened and to count on each other. That was a treasure to read.

Delia smiles at the shadow only she sees—

Something slams into her. The lyra whirls like a half-dollar spinning on its edge.

My mother is thrown backward.

And she falls.

Growing up in the Cinzio Traveling Players Company, Genevieve Flannery is accustomed to a life most teenagers could never imagine: daily workouts of extravagant acrobatics; an extended family of clowns; wild animals for pets; and her mother, Delia, whose mind has always been tortured by visions—but whose love Geni never questions. In a world of performers who astonish and amaze on a daily basis, Delia’s ghostly hallucinations never seemed all that strange . . . until the evening Geni and her mother are performing an aerial routine they’ve done hundreds of times, and Delia falls to her death.

That night, a dark curtain in Geni’s life opens. Everything has changed.

Still reeling from the tragedy, the Cinzio Traveling Players are also adjusting to the circus’s new owner: a generous, mysterious man whose connection to the circus—Geni suspects—has a dark and dangerous history. And suddenly Geni is stumbling into a new reality of her own, her life interrupted daily by the terrors only Delia used to be able to see.

As the visions around her grow stronger, Geni isn’t sure who she can trust. Even worse, she’s starting to question whether she can trust her own mind.

But her summer dreams are quickly shattered. First, Dan arrives for vacation with a new girlfriend in tow, and then Julia discovers this may be her last summer in the only home she's ever known.

Heartbroken and afraid, Julia looks to the stars for some perspective. Taking her telescope down to the dock one night, she has a chance encounter with a guitar-playing boy who offers some helpful advice. Too bad this handsome stranger is the developer's son, Nick Constantine.

As plans for a resort move forward, Julia is desperate to find a solution that doesn't mean leaving the lake. Nick, in turn, is desperate to separate himself from his father's aggressive business tactics. He promises that, together, they can thwart the sale.

But can Julia trust him to conspire against his own father? And could she ever she trust him with her heart?

It’s time to panic. The Gatekeeper is about to cut you’re beating heart out and steal your soul . . .

When Cait’s younger brother Dec is mortally injured by a terrorist’s deadly car bomb during a chilled-out family holiday in Sicily, Italy, she is totally devastated. Distraught. And determined to chase down the perpetrators. But happy-go-lucky, congenial Cait is not a person to cross. Especially when it comes to family. They’re sacrosanct, and the line in the sand was crossed when the bomb exploded.

Cait demands payback. And retribution.

But how? She’s in a foreign land, the odds are totally stacked against her, and she’s on her own. Or is she?

Voices from the Otherworld—Cait’s ancient Shamanic grandmothers—are constantly in her ear as she wanders between this and the Otherworld, coaching her, guiding her, protecting her. An innocent fourteen boy who was ritually sacrificed, his soul then stolen by the evil Otherworld beast Soran, the Gatekeeper of Lost Souls, constantly haunts Cait as the child drifts aimlessly in an ethereal no-man’s land, half way between Heaven and Hell, searching for release and a life in the next dimension.

Then Sergeant Tony ‘Ice’ O’Donnell enters Cait’s world: terrorist hunter, trained killer, assassin. A fractured SAS soldier of fortune and an Australian Security Intelligence Organisation field agent who operates on the edges of legal. Together they stumble across a secretive and dangerous sect dating back to the Crusades: The Brethren of the True Believers. Ruthless tyrants and captains of commerce and industry who are under the control the Gatekeeper.

Somehow this is all inter-related. But how? Will Cait manage to locate the terrorists and extract the revenge that she so desperately wants to mete out? And will she beat the odds and save the next child to be ritually slaughtered?

Cait’s paranormal powers of insight and perception are pushed to the max. But will this be enough to survive the mayhem and onslaught?

Author Details :

But first, call me Rick – all my friends do!

Rick is the creator of the breakout contemporary paranormal Urban Fiction series detailing Cait’s dramatic journey from a happy-go-lucky, 23-year old millennial to a powerful and ruthless femme fatale.

When Rick initially wrote The Awakening in 2011 it was a stand alone book. However, as soon as he finished it he sensed that there was an even bigger story wanting desperately to emerge, so he put the book aside to percolate and it was never published.

Then one day, in a blinding flash of the obvious seven years later, Cait started screaming at Rick from the pages of his novel: “Let me loose. I’ve got a journey to pursue”. Her remonstrations led to the second book in the series, The Mind Controller, being written over a three month period in 2018. To tie the two books together, The Awakening then required revisiting and totally rewriting. All up, it took a further four months for Rick to put the whole series together from nose to tail.

While the first two books were being prepared for publication, a third book in the series quickly followed as Cait had another adventure to embark on. The Assassin’s Apprentice is a nail-biting urban adventure where Cait’s powers of insight and perception are stretched to the max. as she travels the world, chasing down the murderous and illusive secret sect, Brethren of the True Believers.

Book number four is currently gelling in Rick’s head and will be out in early to mid 2020. Cait’s amazing paranormal powers continue to grow and mature as she seamlessly moves between current reality and the Otherworld. On the recommendation of fractured and secretive ex-SAS soldier of fortune, Tony ‘Ice’ O’Donnell, she is picked up by ASIO as a specialist undercover operative. Cait ends up their go-to person when all else has failed and they are at a dead end with a case going nowhere.

Rick is a bit of an adventurer, a sometimes adrenalin junky and a world traveller (67 countries and still counting). He’s into competitive bay sailing, ocean racing, road bike riding, scuba diving, natural health and keeping fit. Rick lives in Melbourne, Australia, with Sandi, his wife of many years, and is the proud father of two thirty-something millennial children. There are also two beautiful young grandchildren in the mix who Sandi and Rick spoil to excess!

Review : For years, I have known Aty. But I only known her through her beautiful drawings she drew of Daniel Radcliffe. Her talent captured my eye and I never really knew the story behind the drawings until this year she invited me to become a beta reader for her novel “The Autumnal Equinox” which I had known she was writing but never had any idea of what it was about. Being a Beta Reader for her novel meant a lot to me. And I have to be truthful the first chapters she sent me really left me in tears literally at having a chance to finally see who Michael Sullivan (Daniel Radcliffe) was exactly. Michael Sullivan, the main character in the book was in many ways a normal teen living his life as any of us would. Chapter by Chapter as you read along you begin to discover the relationship between Michael Sullivan and Anahita Eunice. But as you read it you learn that even though they seem normal something is going on you can’t quite discover until you get furthur along. All the characters in the book, brought the story to life each affecting Michael in one way or another. There were some cute moments in it and ones where you think can this really be happening? There were also times you were scared for the characters just like if you were seeing a movie play in your head. Cause that’s how I pictured it as I read it. What I loved most in the novel was how the concept of the story was laid out and even though I cannot speak what it is entirely about. I have to admit it really was a different concept. I never read anything like this. Every section Aty, sent me left me with questions you wonder why did the character do this or what was gonna happen next and it keeps you on your toes wanting to read more and more until the very end when everything seems to fall into place. What makes you love the story, is not only the romance between the two characters but the mystic message behind it all. It was a very good read and I had a lot of fun reading it. I now know what each drawing means and what part she is referring to. Aty’s novel is not published yet, but she is trying her best to get it published. For her being Iranian, she is fully talented not only in art, but in writing as well. She’s given a lot of thought to her book and knows what feelings to bring out in you. The book brings out one strong message, “The Power of Choice”.

You find that he is not a normal college student that something is different about him. He gets headaches and sees things. But it gets even creepier when he meets the girl he’s had visions of. I think this story truly had a powerful beginning things just keep getting more interesting as you go on and there’s much more to Caleb than just a young man who sees the future. Darla Adair provides much more to Caleb and expands his potential. Together they learn from each other. Stories like this are just truly fascinating. I think this story is pretty amazing. There’s much more to this story, but you’ll just have to read it to find out for yourself. Consider adding this to your summer reading list.

"I was stuck. Stuck in an endless dream, watching a terrible future I was powerless to change. Or was I? What if I could change the future? Could I ignore that kind of power? And if I did--what would I become?" Caleb Swift knows he's a complicated guy. He sees the unseeable: winged beings that haunt both his dreams and his waking visions. He knows the unknowable: horrifying visions of countless unspeakable futures he feels powerless to prevent. And if that weren't bad enough, these potent revelations might be driving him insane. Who needs that kind of trouble? Not Caleb. He's doing his best to live a totally uncomplicated life, to ignore the visions of doom that hound him relentlessly. But no matter what he does, one particular vision still plagues him. The one with the girl. The girl who's in mortal danger (or will be soon). The girl only he can save. Now Caleb has a choice. To ignore his gift, to live the ordinary life he so desperately desires, even if it means letting her die... Or to act. To interfere. To become extraordinary. And let one girl's future turn his present completely upside-down. Fans of Harry Potter by JK Rowling, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic by Emily Croy Barker, Ghosts I Have Known by Nhys Glover, and Going Bovine by Libba Bray are sure to enjoy The Channeler. Review : The Cheerleaders was a very interesting book it was mysterious and it was the kind of book that made you see things that were happening then things as they happened. The story went back and forth, but it did lead to a very good conclusion. I thought the realness of it was just how high school really is but the who done it aspect was very confusing so it just made you want to keep on reading. The overall take on this was great. It brought out the feelings in you and that is writing of a great story.

There are no more cheerleaders in the town of Sunnybrook.

First there was the car accident—two girls gone after hitting a tree on a rainy night. Not long after, the murders happened. Those two girls were killed by the man next door. The police shot him, so no one will ever know why he did it. Monica’s sister was the last cheerleader to die. After her suicide, Sunnybrook High disbanded the cheer squad. No one wanted to be reminded of the girls they lost.

That was five years ago. Now the faculty and students at Sunnybrook High want to remember the lost cheerleaders. But for Monica, it’s not that easy. She just wants to forget. Only, Monica’s world is starting to unravel. There are the letters in her stepdad’s desk, an unearthed, years-old cell phone, a strange new friend at school. . . . Whatever happened five years ago isn’t over. Some people in town know more than they’re saying. And somehow Monica is at the center of it all.

There are no more cheerleaders in Sunnybrook, but that doesn’t mean anyone else is safe.

Review : The Leading Edge of Now was a very powerful story dealing with family issues and a personal issue Grace leads us into. From the start of the book you see the character is dealing with the loss of her father, but there is also something else she is dealing with. I don’t want to spread any details cause you must read this yourself. But I loved how this one went about the problem she held secret. When she thought Owen was the kind of person she thought he was at first I could clearly see he wasn’t. But it was really sad to see who the actual person was. It was a tangled web and to finally see what happened was just wow. I didn’t expect that. The book in its entirety was a great read it made me laugh and cry. It was filled with so many emotions and I have to say Marci Curtis is a brilliant writer. I couldn’t put it down. You should definitely add this to your reading list. Its one you must read. It’s something you will never forget.

Review : The Light written by Joe Solomon takes you to Houston, Texas at first things seem natural like any other day until a few hours later a mysterious light appears. I have to say that the beginning of this book reminds me of a movie I seen called Birdbox only because of the chaos and the mysterious light that appears and what form it takes when people see it. The chaos of things exploding and the carnage was absolutely horrifying. Joe really wrote something very terrifying but also really good. I didn’t know what to expect when I read this. But have been enjoying it and loving the characters Robert and Alex. This book has action when trying to defeat the horde or avoid them in the University. I have more to read, but wanted to share with you that this is a true must read. If you like horror, survival and end of the world kinda things this is for you. So add it to your reading list.

March Madness has begun and college basketball playoffs are heating up, not that Robert Walker—a graduate student from Texas—particularly cares. He has decided to skip classes for the day, sleep in, and get some rest. Unfortunately, a brief spat on the phone with his fiancée makes that impossible. Hoping to take his mind off of it, he scans through TV channels in search of entertainment and instead finds one news report after another that warns of violence erupting in the streets.

People are randomly and savagely attacking one another all along the East Coast from Maine to Florida. Some speculate it may be related to strange lights that have appeared in the sky above the outbreaks. Before any solid conclusions can be drawn, however, the brutality spreads, sweeping across the country until it hits Houston, then proceeds on to the West Coast. Robert, a handful of classmates, and a few others manage to survive the first wave and find themselves in the midst of civilization’s blackest hour, surrounded by pandemonium, bloodshed, and masses of people who have been stripped of their humanity. Hours later, as those strange lights continue to dominate the sky, the vicious horde undergoes a new transformation.

There is no escaping the horror. Unable to reach his fiancée by phone, Robert sets out to find her, joined by a small ensemble of fellow survivors. The thirty-five miles they must cover are fraught with danger, and their terror grows with each step they take as they witness the genesis of a new Earth. Can they find a way to stop it? Will they even survive it?

Our instant attraction is one more complication I don’t need in my life. But my daughter loves Amelia, and I will do anything for that tiny munchkin. Review : The Spellspeaker’s Prophecy was one book I could not put down. Once I started reading it I couldn’t stop it was honestly a very good story. The thing that got me was the chemistry of the characters they were a group not judging each other because of their differences and even though they had their challenges it was astonishing how it all came together. I was amazed that within almost a day I had read the entire thing saving 5 chapters for a few other days cause I didn’t want it to end. I never read a book like this and this is my first time reading an ebook. I usually have a physical copy. But it was a good story and I really loved it. The love story between Roz and Lukas was my favorite part of it. Where he believed in her and made her believe in herself. She was a fighter and toward the end she was just amazing. The other characters Conner and Ali gave the story pizazz I think because in some way they were all special with the powers they possessed. They weren’t just ordinary sidekicks. The theme of it was a different concept with vampires, shapeshifters, witches and magic. If you love all those things you will love this story. It was an incredible book, one I am giving five stars. I highly recommend you read this. Please be aware that this is book 2 of the Beasts of Vegas series. Thanks to Anna for creating a lovely story for us readers and thanks to Rockstar Book Tours for giving me the opportunity to introduce you to it.

One of my first memories is dangling over the arm of our living room sofa telling myself a post-apocalyptic survival tale in which my mother and I were the last two people on earth. It was so fun, I never stopped telling stories. In high school, I faked being ill so I could stay home to work on a novel about a nanny who falls in love with her boss’ bad boy nephew.

As an adult I earned a college degree, got married, and had a child, but I never stopped writing. It only got more fun. I wrote through my lunch breaks at work. I wrote on the treadmill at the gym. Eventually, I had dozens of short stories, novellas, and full-length novels piling up on thumb drives and in plastic tubs.

Now, I’m ready to share my stories with you, starting with The Dark Caster Series, the Red Plague Series, and the Beasts of Vegas Series. I hope you love reading them as much as I loved writing them!

Review : When I first started reading this I didn’t know what to think. But the more I read it another book came to mind while not like it in someways it was similar. A book I reviewed earlier called The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas. They both seemed to have a whodunit while totally different scenarios this deals with Homecoming while the other dealt with Cheerleaders. I found this book really entertaining it was a real mystery and trying to decide who the culprit was well it seemed everyone was guilty of something but it was a wild read and I loved the book. Karen really made you think on this one. But you will have to read it to find out more.

Review : When I first got this book to review I had only a small piece of what it was about. I was not really sure if I would like it or not. But Lynette really made you wonder why the character Jane was at a government facility to begin with. Having read a little more than half I was hooked everything came into view as the story shows how everything happened and what Jane was capable of. The torture she went through was almost like she was a robot. The first few pages were like routine with Jane I have to admit but the story turns as soon as she meets Ward. The chemistry between Ward and Jane was unusual at first I didn’t quite understand just like Jane what he was really there for. It was a bit complicated, but I begun to understand why. The evaluator’s played a key role to the whole story and it was like something was amiss that you didn’t quite know about least not yet. What was kind of weird was how Lengard could be a cold and dark place, but yet a comfort. My Overall thought on this book was I really liked the story the concept was totally different. I think young readers will love reading it just as I have it has a good solid story line. I didn’t dislike anything about it cause it was an interesting read. Lynette’s writing style was perfect for Whisper she really knew how to explain the character’s thoughts and feelings. It was almost as if you were right there with Jane. Seeing how her life changed and how she never knew that the little things were something she cherished. Be sure to add this to your reading list its filled with awe, happiness, laughter and a bit of the unknown.

Praise for Sleight

“Jennifer Sommersby’s Sleight makes magic from an enthralling premise, wonderfully-drawn characters, and beautiful words. It’s hard to avoid descriptors like entrancing, spell-binding and mystical.” —Michael Grant, New York Times bestselling author of the Gone series

“Fantasy readers will fall in love with Sleight. Like a circus, it’s an intoxicating mix of beauty, humor, magic, and danger that means the reader can’t bear to look away until the final page.” —Eileen Cook, author of With Malice

“Startlingly imaginative and vividly realized.” —Ira Bloom, author of Hearts & Other Body Parts

Review: This book is the next chapter into the Saga of the Sleight the book I read a while back. It brought new characters and opened up the world to this incredible story. If you are excited to read this please do. Jennifer is a wonder to the reading community. She brings fantasy in a whole different way. In this you learn new secrets to Gen’s past what happened to the scarred Lion when she was 5 and so much more. So check it out.

  • I buy a lot of books. A LOT. No, seriously. I have a problem.
  • I am a soundtrack/movie score JUNKIE. Hans Zimmer and Alexandre Desplat and Sonya Belousova and the Greyson-William brothers and Ramin Djawadi … and HARRY ESCOTT. *swoon* He followed me back on Twitter and I almost died. Almost. If you ever need movie score recommendations, I AM YOUR PERSON.

Book Review: No Nice Girl Swears
I am thrilled to be hosting a spot on the NO NICE GIRL SWEARS by Alice-Leone Moats Blog Tour hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. Check out my post and make sure to enter the giveaway!

    About The Book:
Title: NO NICE GIRL SWEARS: Notes on High Society, Social Graces, and Keeping Your Wits from a Jazz-Age Debutante
Author: Alice-Leone Moats foreword by Stellene Volandes
    Pub. Date: April 7, 2020
    Publisher: Apollo Publishers
    Formats: Hardcover, eBook
    Pages: 184

“A book of modern etiquette for the modern debutante and sub deb, with an eye on her mother. Definitely keyed to the city and suburban communities, rather than the small town. Humor and commonsense combined in due proportion in answering such questions as: Shall I ask him in? May I call you up some time? What is the technique of being picked up? What should be done if my escort passes out on me? And so on. In addition, the author gives the latest usage in the matter of debutante parties, chaperonage (you’d be surprised!), engagements, weddings, clothes, week-end parties, and other contingencies. In good taste, and yet distinctly smart. The book itself is another experiment in colored stock—yellow this time—but since the books are to be sealed with cellophane wrappers, the prospective buyer wont know what she is getting until the purchase is made.”
    Kirkus Review

“In spite of such reminiscent titles of ‘Shall She Ask Him In?’ and ‘Never Speak To Strangers Unless They Speak to You,’ these chapters contain serious advice—the pragmatism of it all cloaked in a flippant and humor-flecked style.”
    New York Times

Review: This book is a timeless piece, a guide to what woman went through back in the old days. It states how things were and what you were supposed to do, but in this day and age everything has changed. I found the customs in this book were rather odd, but viable. If you want to give yourself a history lesson this is one way to do it. My Rating: 4 Stars

    Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Here’s your first look at Dan playing Fredrick on the upcoming Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Interactive Special titled: Kimmy vs. the Reverend coming on May 12. First photo can be viewed below.

Daniel Radcliffe plays Prince Frederick Windsor, a young royal, 12th in line to the British throne. “That sounds far away but is actually pretty f—ing close; I looked it up,” says Dan from New York City’s Plaza Hotel, where the cast is shooting a certain (candy-colored, this is Kimmy!) celebration. “Frederick’s had a very sheltered life so he’s rather oblivious, but a very good-hearted human.”

Frederick and Kimmy’s unique connection is shown in little ways. For instance: Remember Jan, the backpack? Well, the prince can see and hear her too. Radcliffe admits his character’s as quirky as the rest, “but he absolutely loves Kimmy, and I hope people will be happy that she gets a prince — well, a prince with caveats.”

TELEVISION > 2020 | UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT INTERACTIVE SPECIAL> STILLS

    Sharp Interview

One afternoon in early March, Daniel Radcliffe walked into the makeup room backstage at the Old Vic theatre in London to get his hair done for that evening’s performance of Endgame, the Samuel Beckett play he’d been starring in with Alan Cumming. A hairdresser was there waiting to confront him with some rather shocking news. “You’ve got coronavirus,” the hairdresser declared.

This was news to Radcliffe, who felt healthy enough. So the hairdresser showed him the apparent source of the claim: a tweet, from an account calling itself “BBC Breaking News,” which read, “Daniel Radcliffe tests positive for coronavirus.” That was all it took for the rumour to go, uh, viral. His girlfriend, the actress Erin Darke, had to spend the afternoon reassuring friends that he was okay. “Every time I saw someone for the rest of the day, I didn’t know if they’d heard it,” Radcliffe told me. “I didn’t want to lead with ‘I don’t have it,’ but I didn’t want them thinking, ‘Oh my God, he’s being so irresponsible, to have the virus and just be walking around here.’ ”

Of course, the tweet was yet another celebrity hoax. But just days later, Endgame was cancelled two weeks before the end of its scheduled run. Hours after the cancellation was announced, Radcliffe was on one of the final flights to New York before the border was closed to international travel. As for so-called “social distancing” measures, fans have evidently not been taking them under advisement. “I’ve felt very rude over the past 24 hours,” he laughs. “People at the airport were sticking their hands out, trying to get selfies, and I’m like, ‘No, sorry, I’m literally going to America and I don’t want to catch something and not be allowed to get in.’ ” He made it in the end, and I’ve caught up with him via FaceTime at the beginning of his two-week government-mandated self-isolation.

Radcliffe concedes he was an ideal candidate for the fake-news prank. He’s one of the most well-liked and widely recognizable film stars in the world, for the simple reason that almost everyone in the world has seen and likes Harry Potter. And he’s one of the few celebrities under the age of about 45 who doesn’t use social media, meaning he can’t dismiss gossip with a tweet. “I honestly don’t think I have the mental fortitude to be on Twitter. Besides, I’ve been shoved down people’s throats since I was 10 years old. If I were on Twitter, tweeting every day, I feel like people would get sick of me. I’d get sick of me. Ugh.” Other actors, he’s quick to point out, are “fucking amazing” on social media. “And good luck to them. But I’d get bored of myself. God knows how the rest of the world would cope.”

A decade of Potter made Radcliffe ubiquitous. His face was inescapable, on t-shirts and action figures, on backpacks and coffee mugs. The amazing thing about Daniel Radcliffe now isn’t that he remains hugely famous. That was inevitable. (“The Potter films made something like five billion dollars worldwide, to put it crudely,” he says.) The amazing thing about Daniel Radcliffe now is that he’s managed to establish a career totally separate from the colossal franchise with which he’s synonymous. He has steadfastly refused to let Harry Potter define him — and so he has proceeded, over the decade that followed, to make everyone take him seriously as more than just the familiar kid wizard.

“I’m lucky,” he says. “Most actors live with this thing where the next thing they do could be the biggest thing they ever do. Whereas I’m like, no, I’ve done the biggest thing I’ll ever do,” he says. “I will never be in anything as massive as Harry Potter again. At a certain point, that becomes a hugely liberating realization: I’ve been freed from that definition of success.”

Radcliffe’s pursuit of creative freedom comes to a head this spring, when a wide swath of his interesting projects will be released. There’s the hyper-violent action movie Guns Akimbo, and Escape from Pretoria, a heady drama about political prisoners in South Africa. There’s his TV work, including the upcoming supernatural comedy series Miracle Workers, in which he stars alongside Steve Buscemi, and the new special of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. And of course there was that Beckett play.

Radcliffe, now 30, laid the groundwork for change early, before Potter had even finished. In 2007, between Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, Radcliffe realized that he would “need to do something to achieve longevity” after the mega-franchise came to an eventual end. So he made the audacious choice to star in Equus, the famous (and famously difficult) Peter Shaffer play about a young man obsessed with horses. Even if you didn’t see Equus in London or on Broadway, you probably saw some of the promotional stills used to advertise the production, much-circulated in tabloids at the time. They showed Radcliffe, brooding and shirtless, six-pack abs flaring as he strokes a stallion’s mane. “Yeah, yeah, I know,” he groans when I mention it. “But doing that play sent a signal. It’s not a play you do unless you really want to be an actor — and not just because of the nudity.”

His performance in Equus was well-received by critics. (“Thank God,” Radcliffe jokes.) But he witnessed glimpses of how precarious the situation was — how perilously near he’d come to humiliation, his dream of being taken seriously dashed in an instant. “One of those supportive English papers like The Daily Mail ran a headline that said something like, ‘Crash — What’s That — The Sound of Dan Radcliffe’s Career Coming to a Grinding Halt.’ An unwieldy headline, I know, but when I saw that, I was suddenly like, ‘Oh, man, this has to be good. I have to be decent in this.’ ” So he worked on enunciation and projection with a vocal coach for 18 months. “I didn’t want them faulting me for that. Some of them probably did fault me for that, but not nearly as much as if I hadn’t done all that work.”

“From the moment you start acting as a kid, you’re confronted with the perception that child actors are dicks. Getting to show a little self-awareness was very valuable.”

Around the same time he made his serious stage debut, he was invited to appear as an exaggerated caricature of himself in an episode of Extras, Ricky Gervais’s BBC comedy. An avowed Gervais superfan (“I grew up watching The Office and could still quote whole episodes back to you,” he says), he was ecstatic about the cameo. Extras finds Radcliffe co-starring in a fantasy film with Warwick Davis. Between takes, he runs amok around the set, showing off that he smokes cigarettes and hitting on women twice his age. (“I’ve made it with a girl, intercourse-wise,” he brags at one point.) For Radcliffe, the jokes rang true. “From the moment you start acting as a kid, you’re confronted with the perception that child actors are dicks,” he explains. “Getting to show a little self-awareness, to convince people I have a sense of humour about myself, was very valuable.”

In 2013, at the Toronto International Film Festival, you could have seen Radcliffe in three very different movies playing three very different roles: the charming leading man in an independent romantic comedy (The F Word), the devilish anti-hero of an idiosyncratic supernatural thriller (Horns), and the great beat poet Allen Ginsberg (Kill Your Darlings). The timing was unintentional, if convenient. “If you wanted to see my versatility as an actor after Potter,” he says, “that TIFF was the place for me to convince you I had some range.” Yet he maintains he never chooses films because they’re different or unusual. “If it seems like an eclectic mix, it’s because I don’t see them that way. I do it because I just happen to like the movie — and sometimes I just happen to play, like, a farting corpse that comes back to life.” (That one is real. It’s called Swiss Army Man. )

In his downtime, Radcliffe isn’t much of a cinephile. (He sort-of liked ParasiteOnce Upon a Time… in Hollywood “felt a little bit long.”) Mostly, he watches documentaries on Netflix. “I don’t watch a huge amount of films, is my honest answer,” he confesses. “If the film is bad, I hate it immediately and want to stop but feel obligated to finish and just drag it out and don’t enjoy it. If it’s good, I get stressed out and sad because I’ll never get to be in it.” This hang-up, he knows, sounds “really stupid and narcissistic.” But he can’t help it. “As an actor, when you see something great, you’re like, ‘Oh, man, that’s already been made! I’ll never be in that now, and if they remade it, it would be shitty.’ ”

He likens his career now to that of Robert Pattinson. Both became famous on the strength of starring roles in tent-pole youth franchises. Both have avoided blockbusters ever since, instead favouring lower-budget projects and more eccentric work. “Rob and I were both lucky to be in something super huge when we were young, and that’s given us a lot of independence, and we both seem to be like, ‘Okay, let’s use that to do as much cool stuff as we can.’ ” Although he insists his name alone is “absolutely not enough to get a film financed,” he admits that putting the weight of his star power behind a project can sometimes get smaller projects made. “If having played Harry Potter helps people see these small movies I want to make, I’m very much okay with that,” he says.

But enjoying freedom in his career doesn’t mean he’s not ambitious. He still has goals and dreams, things he wants to do someday. Chief among them: writing and directing his own feature. “I’ve watched a lot of directors and I think it would be something I’d really enjoy,” he explains. “I don’t take it lightly. It’s a difficult job. But that’s something I want to start in the next few years.” Well, he will have at least the next few weeks on his hands, I point out — perhaps he should get writing. “I know, I know,” he groans. “Everyone’s sending this King Lear shit ’round. I know how unproductive Shakespeare is supposed to make the rest of us feel.” Still, you never know. “I have the next 14 days at least. I’ve started on a script. I might as well use this time to finish it.”

    What Readers are Saying:

“Sometimes a book will come along that will surprise and captivate you, it will draw you into the story and make you a part of the world. This is such a book!! This book was simply brilliant!!! I adored every minute of it.” – Natalie, A Book Lover’s Life

“It was so refreshing to open this book up to a new kind of story, with Native American characters taking center-stage and diving into an entire mythos of lore, spiritual awakening, latent magical powers, ageless sage leaders, and, naturally, angsty young people battling not only big scary monsters, but themselves in a conflict of deep personal struggle, of self discovery, of a painful past, and of a hopeful future.” – Dustin Street, Big Small Town Books

“The amount of detail and heart Harris put into her characters and setting make The Spirit Breather stand out from the crowd. The story is wildly entertaining, the characters are easy to love, the plot is carefully crafted, and the writing is lovely. This was a refreshing read and I’m looking forward to more about Joseph and Emily in the future.” – Amazon Customer

Fox 5: Dan dishes on Escape from Pretoria

Daniel Radcliffe, is taking on a new role in a thriller based on a real-life prison break. He joined us with more on his new film, Escape From Pretoria.

Newsweek: Magic Won’t Help Daniel Radcliffe in ‘Escape from Pretoria’

How do you feel this story is relevant today? What do you hope modern audiences take from it?

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s ever a time when it’s not relevant. The fact that Tim and Stephen and all the guys in that prison were able to see the system that they had been raised in from the outside for the immoral, oppressive tyranny that it was.

Why do you feel it was important for the film to play like a thriller?

It is also an incredible prison-break story. It’s amazing. They made keys. What’s crazy when you talk to Tim, he kind of has an air of, “Well, you know, I just did what anyone would do,” and you’re just like, “No, no one else would’ve been able to do this.”

You worked with your co-star Ian Hart as a child in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone [as Quirrell]. What was it like working together all these years later?

I think it gave both of us a terrifying sense of the passage of time. It’s lovely.

What’s something that you’re rarely asked about the Harry Potter franchise that you wish you were asked more often?

People always want to talk about actors hanging out, but I would talk about the crew until the cows come home, because I feel like there was a family feel on set that is rarely felt on franchise films—a real caring atmosphere that I think the crew was responsible for.

Glamour: Please Don’t Ask Daniel Radcliffe What Makes Him Sexy

Dan answers Inappropriate Questions, Glamour’s column that asks all the cheeky, slightly off-kilter stuff best saved for a second (or better yet, third) date. Reader, he immediately started talking about his penis. And his love language.

Glamour: I’m going to ask you some inappropriate questions.

    Daniel Radcliffe: Oh Jesus!

In Guns Akimbo, your character carries his phone around even though he’s being tracked by murderers because he wants his ex to text him back so badly. I thought that was relatable! Was that kind of desperation familiar to you?

Not, I am happy to say, in recent days. But when I was a teenager? Yeah, 100%. I’ve been with my girlfriend now for eight years, so it’s been a long time since I stressed over a text, but absolutely I was one of those people that was analyzing, “How long should I wait before I text somebody?” And then, “Is it too much to put a kiss? Is two kisses just insane? What if they don’t write any back? That means they hate you!” All that mental cycling around, I did a lot of that.

I was watching the movie and taking notes and one just says, “Oh shit! We see his penis!” Was that you, or did you use a body double?

No, that is not me. I am, uh—you know, I’m Jewish! So that will give you enough information as to why that is not my penis. It’s not actually anyone’s; it’s a prosthetic.

Did you get to pick the prosthetic penis?

Um, no. [Laughs.] It was more a case of—they had to do, I guess, a color skin match so that it would be appropriate for me. Also, I think, if I’m correct, you don’t see any balls? Because the balls of that prosthetic penis were…not good. I don’t know what it had been made for; it was not made specifically for the film, I don’t think. A lot was going wrong with the very downstairs part.

You are correct about the balls. Do you believe in astrology?

I do not, no. I’m very boring and skeptical. Which is a shame because I think I’m on the cusp of Cancer and Leo, which is a cool thing to say, because on the cusp is a…I don’t know if that sounds cool. But it doesn’t yet, none of it means anything to me, I’m afraid.

I’ve read that you’re into poetry. Who do you think is the sexiest poet?

Oh! Well! I mean, Shelley and Keats. Well, Keats wasn’t really sexy. Keats was like very, very romantic but probably not sexy. Shelley was probably quite sexy. Byron, if anything, was too sexy. They all looked like very, very handsome young men who also were incredibly talented writers. Byron is just the one that you go, “You seem like you may be a terrible human being, even if you wrote beautiful poetry.”

All too common. What is the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

Obviously, as a teenager who liked poetry, I wrote tremendous amounts of horrible teenage love poetry. I’ve done the, like, flying in when someone doesn’t know you’re gonna fly in to surprise them, when they don’t expect you to be in the country, and you just sort of arrive on the doorstep.

It’s going to open a really good dialogue about sex positivity and honesty!

Absolutely! But I feel like—in terms of love languages, or whatever that is—is one of them gestures? Because that is not my love language.

What do you think is your love language?

Isn’t one of them just telling people? And touch?

    Words of affirmation?

Words of affirmation! That’s definitely very much me. And I feel like touch, those would be my two main ones.

Does that match well with your girlfriend?

I hope so! We’ve been together eight years. I hope, if not, she’d say something.

What is the most inappropriate thing a fan has ever said to you?

Well, I had a very weird one the other night. A woman the other night at the play came up to me and went, “I just want you to know that my aunt saw you in Equus. And she wants me to tell you that your chest hair is far too much for her.” And it was all really said with the sense of “I know you wanted to date my aunt who you’ve never met or heard from before, but now you can’t.”

    Have you ever ghosted anyone?

Ah, yes. I think I definitely did. Not to keep going back to when I was a teenager, because apparently the more I do the more I sound like I was a really shitty teenager, but I’m sure I did that to somebody.

What happened? Why’d you do it?

Oh, because I was young and stupid and terrified of confrontation and honesty. So probably that. It wasn’t like a serious relationship relationship. But I definitely would have done that when I was like, oh God, 16 or 17? Oh man. I have learned.

Ghosted by Daniel Radcliffe! Oof. What’s the weirdest thing you do when you’re alone?

I catch myself being very stupid when I’m alone. I’ve apologized to inanimate objects in my flat before. Like, I opened the fridge once and coughed in it and didn’t cover my mouth and just said, “Oh, sorry!” to no one. I talk to myself.

I had to get permission from my editor to ask this question: Do you think Harry and Ginny ever had sex on Hogwarts property?

I don’t know! I’m now also trying to remember the ages that they are at the various points of the film, and I don’t want to get either of these fictional characters into trouble, so I’m going to pass on that one.

What’s the sexiest thing about you?

Oh, God. Please don’t ask me that. You’d have to ask my girlfriend. Um, I dunno. Oh, God. Sorry.

ET Canada: Daniel Radcliffe Talks Career Path

Variety Interview: Why Dan Won’t Play Potter Again

Dan spoke to Variety about researching his role in the film Escape from Pretoria, his love of the stage and why he won’t be reprising his role as Harry Potter anytime soon.

What interested you about “Escape From Pretoria”?

Just the f—ing incredible physical riddle of it all. How they were able to open the cell door of this terrible prison with these handmade keys and escape to freedom. Also there was something nice about the fact that these were people who were eminently supportable. You’re rooting for them to get out because they should not be in prison. They are victims of an oppressive, tyrannical regime, so it seemed like a wonderful story to be a part of telling.

Did you spend a lot of time with Tim Jenkin?

I did. He was in the movie in a small role. I won’t lie. I was very intimated having him on set because I was so aware that I was sort of playing at somebody’s life. We’re all walking around in costume, in prison outfits, and there’s this guy who lived through this. I kept thinking that it must be such a weird thing for him, and I worried he’d think we were trivializing it. But he seemed to like being there and he was so generous with his time. Despite having told this story a hundred thousand times, he was patient with all of my questions and just giving and generous with his time.

Do you feel a greater responsibility when you play a real person?

You do feel a real responsibility to do it justice. Not to sound pretentious and be everything I hate about actors, but it makes you want to suffer a bit more when you know there was actual real human pain involved in the story you are telling. You feel more of an obligation to try to understand what that was like.

When you say you feel a need to suffer more, what do you mean? Do you consider yourself to be a method actor?

I already hate that answer I just gave. Can I take it back? I’m not a method actor at all. I’m all about breaking down a script and figuring out what I’ll need to do. Occasionally I’ll listen to music to get in the mood for certain scenes, but generally my approach is to just know the lines well and give the director as many different options as we have time for. To try the scene in many different ways. That’s what works for me.

There are a number of articles that talk about your “weird” career choices since you finished the “Harry Potter” series. You’ve certainly made a lot of off-beat films like “Horns” and “Swiss Army Man,” but do you agree with that characterization?

I accept the label in that there’s nothing I’ve shied away from. But I wasn’t like, “find me the weirdest thing out there.” I wasn’t picking projects that were weird for weird’s sake. “Swiss Army Man” was weird in that it’s about a farting corpse coming back to life and that’s not for everybody. At the same time, it’s an incredibly smart film that has something beautiful to say about being human. I’ve done “Guns Akimbo,” where I’ve had guns bolted to my hands, but I’ve also done “Escape From Pretoria,” which is really grounded in reality. I think people saw me play one thing for so long that it seems more notable that I do loads of different stuff now.

Would you return as Harry Potter in the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” films?

I don’t think so. I don’t like say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us. I’m happy to keep it that way. I like what my life is now. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now. And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance.

You are performing opposite Alan Cumming in “Endgame” in the West End. Do you have any plans to bring that to Broadway?

I would love to come back to Broadway. I don’t know if it will be with “Endgame,” but I’ll definitely be back. Broadway and New York have been so kind to me and it’s such a fulfilling place to work. I’m going to find a way to get back as soon as I can.

    Esquire Mexico Interview

New interview with Dan from Esquire Mexico. You can view the article on their website or read the English version below.

IF YOU ARE FAMOUS AT 13 OR 14 YEARS OLD, YOU MAY COME AT 20 AND YOU FIND OUT THAT YOU DON’T LIKE THE ACTION. THEN EVERYONE WILL SAY YOU ARE A FAILURE. BUT I AM LUCKY, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MY CASE AND I WAS ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY GOOD PEOPLE

ESQUIRE: Between cinema, television and theater, what do you enjoy doing the most?

DANIEL RADCLIFFE: I think everyone allows me to do different things. Television and cinema are very similar. My experience in TV has been much more in comedy, that’s why I think it’s so fun for me. I will always love the sets because I love being there and living the whole process. I’ve done it since I was nine years old and I love being in that world. I think the theater has helped me to be better. I have learned a lot and every time I do it with more confidence.

ESQ: Do you have any favorite genre?

D: I love comedy. Making people have fun gives you life.

ESQ: Let’s talk about the issues that will determine the cinema during this year: which do you think will be the most important during 2020?

D: I think you’re right … many times the tone of the movies is defined by what is happening in the United States or in Hollywood. A few years ago journalism dominated, and I think there will be a lot about politics this year, because for them it is a year of elections. I haven’t done anything like that, particularly, although I think Escape from Pretoria has a bit of that.

ESQ: How do you decide whether to take a project or not?

D: The story is always the most important, as is the character. Generally it is when I read something and I realize that I have not done anything similar, or that it would help me to explore in my acting work; something that is original and that I would like to see in the cinema. When I did Swiss Army Man, for example, I thought: “I will never be in a movie like this; it is unique”. Other times, the decision has nothing to do with the script but with the director.

I TRY TO WRITE. PEOPLE SUGGEST TO WRITE ABOUT WHAT IS KNOWN, BUT FOR ME IT’S DIFFICULT, BECAUSE IT IS NOT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO IDENTIFY WITH MY LIFE

ESQ: If you could play any role, which one would you choose?

D: I don’t know. There are books I would like to be in. I would love to be Winston Smith, 1984. He is a great character in a great story. My favorite book is The Master and Margarita, if there was a role for me in that story it would be cool. It’s hard to say what I would like to be because the reason I like many characters has to do with the actor who played them, and I wouldn’t like to say that I can do better than them. I have no intention of doing anything about Shakespeare, for example, and one of the reasons I would not like it is that I have seen many of my favorite actors play their characters and I know I could not do better.

ESQ: You started acting from an early age, how do you think you have evolved since then?

D: When you are a child on the set you just stand and say what you have memorized. I never had a process to decipher the character. As I grew up in Potter I saw how other actors did it and tried to imitate them … the process has been very gradual. When you are a teenager you are very aware of your own face and do not want to do anything weird; It’s scary not to see you cool. Growing up, I have learned to accept my own natural rarity and better take it as something that will make me unique. In short, I think it’s about that: to become less insecure.

ESQ: What do you think makes you unique as an actor?

D: I think it would be better if the question was answered by people … there are things in which I consider myself good, and many times it has to do with throwing myself to do things; there isn’t something I don’t try, I always like to try hard.

    Smooth Radio

Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he would love to star in a biopic about a musical artist – but who would the Dan play?

Speaking exclusively to Smooth Radio‘s Myleene Klass, Daniel revealed: “Boy George – that’s an interesting life as well. And so is George Michael’s, I’m sure.

“I don’t think I’m a good enough singer to play either of those. I would love to do some sort of music biopic. That’d be great fun. I would love to find some excuse to sing on film. That would be awesome. Anyone listening – write those scripts.”

Discussing the idea further, Daniel continued: “All my taste is alternative and indie. The Beatles? If I grow my Potter 1 hair, I really could. Potter 1 – like the first Potter film. That’s how we refer to them.

“If I grew it — in the first Potter film, my hair was like a mini John Lennon. But no, if we’re saying that The Beatles are a guilty pleasure, then 100% – The Beatles, I will play all night. That can’t be a guilty pleasure. Who listens to them guiltily?”

He loves to travel and writes everywhere he goes, even when there’s not a desk. He likes karaoke, motorcycles and carpentry. He was once shot in the head with a nail gun, which was not a big of a deal as it sounds. But it still hurt like crazy.

Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on July 23rd, 1989 to Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Janine Gresham in Fulham, London (Queen Charlotte’s Hospital). He began performing in small school productions as a young boy. Soon enough, he landed a role in David Copperfield (1999) (TV), as the young David Copperfield. A couple of years later, he landed a role as Mark Pendel in The Tailor of Panama (2001), the son of Harry and Louisa Pendel (Geoffrey Rush and Jamie Lee Curtis).

Jamie Lee Curtis had indeed pointed out to Daniel’s mother that he could be Harry Potter himself. Soon afterwards, Daniel was cast as Harry Potter by director, Chris Columbus in the film that hit theaters in November 16, 2001, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). He was recognized worldwide after this film was released. Pleasing audiences and critics everywhere, filming on its sequel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), commenced shortly afterwards.

He appeared again as Harry in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) directed by Alfonso Cuarón, and then appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) directed by Mike Newell. Shortly afterwards, he finished filming December Boys (2007) in Adelaide, Australia, Kangaroo Island, and Geelong, Australia which began on the 14th of November, 2005 and ended sometime in December.

On January 27th, 2006, he attended the South Bank Awards Show to present the award for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” to Billie Piper. Dan reprised his famous character once again for the next installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007). In February 2007 he took on his first stage role in the West End play Equus to worldwide praise from fans and critics alike. He has finished filming the TV movie My Boy Jack (2007) (TV), which aired on 11 November 2007 in the UK.

Daniel then went on to make Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 reprising his role as the great wizard. Saying goodbye to the franchise, he went on stage again for the second time playing J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business without really trying on March 27, 2011.

Now being one of the world’s most recognizable people, Daniel leads a somewhat normal life. He has made friends working on the Harry Potter films, which include his co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. And is currently dating Roseanne Coker, a base production assistant who’s worked as part of the crew since Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

His next role Arthur Kipps for The Woman in Black which has already finished filming is due to be released in February 2012. No news on what his next project will be as of yet.

    Bite Me

I fell in love with the slayer sent to destroy me.

Morgan Taylor-Jackson can’t wait for high school to end. In six months she leaves for UCLA and says goodbye to La Jolla, California and her parents’ messy divorce. But when Morgan is bitten by a four-year-old boy, she becomes infected with a mysterious condition. Fever, insomnia, and a new bustline are only the beginning; Morgan morphs from nerd to bombshell.

As far as Van Xander is concerned, all vampires are evil, even the ones who reject human sacrifice and call themselves Puritans.

Just as Van’s mind begins to change, evil forces threaten everything. When prom night arrives, there are only two ways out of the ballroom: death or immortality.
