Fantastic Fest is pulling out all the stops for its upcoming 10th anniversary celebration this month. With a selection of 80 films, including 22 world premieres, 43 North American premiere screenings and 38 short films, Fantastic Fest 2014 will include the biggest slate of screenings yet for the decade old event. To cap it off, the final wave of programming for the festival was officially announced this morning and includes Alexandre Aja’s “Horns,” starring Daniel Radcliffe, and the world premieres of David Yarovesky’s “The Hive” and Joe Lynch’s “Everly.” Fantastic Fest will be in Austin, Texas and will be from September 18 to the 25th.

I used to read a lot of fiction and now I read a lot of non-fiction. And I discovered a few blogs on Kinja that I like that just talk about interesting things—Deadspin is the one I got into it from, but [Kinja has] a blog for anything that you could possibly be interested in.
I also consume endless factual television programs. I have it in my head that if I go to bed watching something like [the Smithsonian Channel], I’ll retain it, and if I do it enough, then I’ll retain quite a lot, eventually. I was learning about Hittites last night. I remember thinking “That’s good that the Hittites have had a show,” because you don’t hear about them. All of the latest civilizations take their thunder away, but they were one of the first civilizations! They deserve a mention!

What’s Horns About?:
From master-of-horror Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) comes this supernatural, offbeat thriller starring beloved British actor Danielle Radcliffe (Harry Potter, Kill Your Darlings) and the talented Juno Temple (Magic Magic, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For).
Ig Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) is accused for the violent rape and killing of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams (Juno Temple). After a hard night of drinking, Ig awakens, hungover, to find horns growing out of his head; they have the ability to drive people to confess sins and give in to selfish impulses. Ig decides to use this effective tool to discover the circumstances of his girlfriend’s death and to seek revenge by finding the true murderer.
Daniel and Juno lead an all-star cast with strong support from David Morse (The Green Mile, The Hurt Locker) and Heather Graham (The Hangover I&II, Boogie Nights).
HORNS is based on the dark fantasy novel of the same name from New York Times best-selling author Joe Hill (Heart Shaped Box) with a screenplay by Keith Burnin. Alexandre Aja, Riza Aziz, Joey McFarland and Cathy Schulman produce.

Today the new poster for Horns was revealed. Along with information from IGN and MTV. Daniel will appear on IGN Live at Comic-Con Friday, July 25th at 1:15pm PST. MTV will also be live streaming from Comic Con with Daniel to appear as well. Russia Glamour came out with their August issue with a new article with outtakes from Kai Z Feng’s 2013 shoot from Out Magazine.

Yesterday we got to see a teaser from Horns, while the trailer made you thirst for more. I just couldn’t get over the images of Dan as Ignatius Martin Perrish. I read the book last year and enjoyed it more than I ever thought possible. Being a Stephen King fan since my childhood, I enjoyed reading Joe Hill’s novel. The teaser however has been removed from youtube, which was probably due to early release. You can view it here, I don’t know how long it will be up. So while we wait for July 25 for San Diego Comic Con to give us the rest of the details on this film. You can view the UK Poster, which has been released with the teaser and a viral website for the film called WalkDeeperintothefire.com. The website right now is on redirect to facebook. But I am hoping soon it will be released again for all to view.
