Actor Daniel Radcliffe takes on various roles in the form of the boy who is a magician to him. He was cast for the first time at the age of 11. He now plays in the film “Jungle” which is shown this week at the Haifa Film Festival, and plays Yossi Ginsberg – an Israeli traveler who lost alone in the jungle of Bolivia.
This week and next week Rock Star Book Tours will be promoting Jungle through individual websites. The first website to do this is YA Books Central. You can preview their interview with Yossi Ghinsberg at the following URL. There is also a giveaway so be sure to enter it, USA Only. Next week we will be doing a review on the book. So you can read it here next week. To follow the tour you can go to this url at Rockstar Book Tours.
In this scene, we see Daniel Radcliffe (Yossi) carving a parasitic worm out of his own forehead with a pen-knife. Totally the stuff of nightmares.
Loads of new stills have been released from Jungle from Bloody Disgusting and Cinesky Pictures. Jungle opens in theaters, On Demand, and Digital HD on October 20th.
New clip and New poster from the UK
Based on an incredible true story, ‘Jungle’ sees the ‘Harry Potter’ star pushing himself to the limit with an extraordinary performance as Yossi Ghinsberg, an Israeli backpacker who finds himself stranded in the depths of the Amazon rainforest.
In 1981, Ghinsberg and three other travellers followed a mysterious Austrian into the unexplored jungle hunting for gold. Eventually, after a number of setbacks and incidents (including the terrifying one shown in the clip above), Ghinsberg found himself alone in the jungle where he survived for three weeks before being rescued close to death.

“It’s about this guy that got lost in the jungle and survived on his own for three weeks,” Radcliffe told EW last year, during the film’s shoot in Australia. “It’s testing everybody: the crew, myself, everyone. It’s a very intense but a very seriously fun shoot.”
Since the premiering of Jungle at the Melbourne International Film Festival a few new things have appeared online. Dan did a special message since he did not appear at the Film Festival, Andy Hazel posted this via twitter.. A new video has also appeared online which talks about the film and a radio broadcast where Daniel talked over the phone. Evening with Linda Burns also which you can hear here.
“We were talking about my first long-term relationship and how I’m sometimes unsure if ending that was the right thing to do considering he was my first true love.
“He explained to me that if I hadn’t left that relationship in my early 20s, I would never have experienced my life the way I have since, standing on my own two feet, taking risks, making mistakes – and I wouldn’t be the actress that stood before him today.”
She adds: “It was such a valuable lesson to understand – trust your instincts to live your life to the fullest and channel any pain or loss you feel into your art”.
I recently added new stills from Jungle thanks to Splendid Films. Also posted on our facebook that Jungle will be headed straight to Blu-Ray for Germany. Read more down below.
Straight to BluRay for Germany
This feature film will be released directly to Blu-ray Disc on the 27th of October 2017 by the copyright holder Splendid Film. “Jungle” is in the lead role with Daniel Radcliffe, who once again proves his ability as a genre performer. The other roles are filled with Thomas Kretschmann, Alex Russell and Joel Jackson. “Jungle” appears on Blu-ray Disc in the conventional Keep Case as a standard edition with a 1080p, AVC encoded picture material and a German DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. The bonus material will be announced at a later date and can be read in our film database.
I also created a group on Facebook for Jungle so if you are interested in the film all info on it will be posted there.
Daniel Radcliffe joins Wolf Creek director Greg McLean in the Bolivian rainforest for a gloriously tense survival thriller based on the bestselling real-life story of adventurer Yossi Ghinsberg.
In the early 1980s, 22-year-old Israeli backpacker Yossi Ghinsberg and two friends – Swiss teacher Marcus Stamm and American photographer Kevin Gale – set off from the Bolivian city of La Paz on what was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime. Leading the way into the uncharted Amazon was an Austrian expat named Karl Ruprechter, who had met the friends just days before and claimed to be familiar with the region. But their dream trip soon turned into a wilderness nightmare from which not all of the men returned.
Adapting Ghinsberg’s acclaimed memoir, Greg McLean moves beyond his previous horror fare to take on an altogether different kind of fear in Jungle, all the more potent for being true. Daniel Radcliffe continues pushing his post-Potter career to the extreme, ably supported by Alex Russell (fellow MIFF Premiere Fund title Cut Snake, MIFF 2014), Joel Jackson (Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Dracula).
Scripted by Justin Monjo (INXS: Never Tear Us Apart) and supported by the MIFF Premiere Fund, Jungle is a stunningly shot, edge-of-your seat story of survival and self-discovery.
