KSM reports from the film market of the Berlinale a “first big catch”. As the Wiesbaden Independent now announces, they have secured the cinema and home entertainment rights to Francis Annan’s “Escape from Pretoria”.
In the true-life adaptation of Tim Jenkins’ Inside Out: Escape from Pretoria Central Prison, Daniel Radcliffe plays the anti-apartheid activist Jenkins, who has to serve in the maximum security prison in Pretoria. Together with his cellmate and friend Stephen Lee he forges outbreak plans, which are put into action in 1979. The two are supported by Denis Goldberg, who was also imprisoned from 1964 to 1986 in Pretoria Central Prison.
A theatrical release or the release date is not yet known.
