Here’s your first look at Dan playing Fredrick on the upcoming Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Interactive Special titled: Kimmy vs. the Reverend coming on May 12. First photo can be viewed below.
Daniel Radcliffe plays Prince Frederick Windsor, a young royal, 12th in line to the British throne. “That sounds far away but is actually pretty f—ing close; I looked it up,” says Dan from New York City’s Plaza Hotel, where the cast is shooting a certain (candy-colored, this is Kimmy!) celebration. “Frederick’s had a very sheltered life so he’s rather oblivious, but a very good-hearted human.”
Frederick and Kimmy’s unique connection is shown in little ways. For instance: Remember Jan, the backpack? Well, the prince can see and hear her too. Radcliffe admits his character’s as quirky as the rest, “but he absolutely loves Kimmy, and I hope people will be happy that she gets a prince — well, a prince with caveats.”

See why Daniel Radcliffe Was Unfazed by Playing a Royal in the ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Special
While the special sees a lot of returning favorites, like Amy Sedaris, Chris Parnell and Fred Armisen in various recurring roles, nothing beats the addition of Radcliffe, who plays an emotionally-stunted royal who is 12th in line to the throne. The whole experience was like a crazy dream — in a good way. “I got to go in and play this ridiculous character and say some incredibly funny lines,” he says. “So yeah, it was a joy.”

Daniel Radcliffe is entering the world of Kimmy Schmidt. The “Harry Potter” actor will star in the upcoming “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” interactive special at Netflix, set to debut in 2020.
The special will see Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) set off on her biggest adventure yet across three states. As with Netflix’s “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” movie and other interactive shows, viewers will be able to make choices on behalf of the show’s characters and take them down different story branches — and they’ll get different jokes.
In announcing the addition of Radcliffe, Netflix also teased the appearance of Kimmy’s kidnapper, the Rev. Dr. Richard Wayne Gary Wayne played by Jon Hamm, in the special. Cast returning for the interactive special include Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane.
Netflix’s order for the special came after the fourth and final season of the show dropped in January. In its announcement, Netflix quoted Tina Fey, co-creator and executive producer, as saying the interactive special “will be a great way to officially complete the series.”
