Dubbed “the Gay Oscars”, the British LGBT Awards bring together the good and the brave across the LGBT community in a celebration of diversity and visibility on the public stage.
This year’s celebrity nominees include Tom Daley, Sue Perkins, Sam Smith, Robbie Rogers, Mary Portas, Graham Norton, Nicola Adams, Alan Carr, Andrew Hayden-Smith and Paul O’Grady amongst a whole host of worthy LGBT stars.
Elsewhere, Daniel Radcliffe, Lorraine Kelly, Katie Price, Mel C, Nigella Lawson, Danny Dyer and Olly Murs are all nominated as straight allies.
The awards will be presented at a RBS sponsored red carpet event at London’s Landmark Hotel on 24 April in Marylebone, hosted by Charlie Condou and Sophie Ward.
Other categories include Rising Star of the Year, Inspirational Role Model of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best Event, Destination of the Year, Brand of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement award.
