Dan is ready to take a step into the jungle based on the true story of Yossi Ghinsberg, Kevin Gale and Markus Stamm who went into the Amazon with a guide in what turned out to be a dangerous and deadly expedition in search of an Indian camp which didn’t exist. If your curious to see more about the plot you can view the video via youtube on the real men that went treking into the Amazon.
In December 1981, Yossi Ghinsberg (Israeli), Kevin Gale (American), and Markus Stamm (Swiss), are three young friends who went to the Bolivian Amazon, where they encounter Karl Ruprechter, a man with promises of an Indian village. After a brief river rafting trip, Markus notices he has trench foot and the group splits up. Kevin and Yossi continue rafting while Markus and Karl hike back into the jungle, never to be seen again.
Greg Mclean (Wolf Creek) will direct the psychological thriller based on a script by fellow Australian Justin Monjo. Screen Australia and Screen Queensland have supported development and invested in the project, which is eyeing a shoot later in 2016 in Australia, among other locations.
“We’re extremely excited about Daniel Radcliffe joining the cast of Jungle,” says Gary Hamilton, managing director of Arclight Films. “He has an enthusiastic global fan-base, a wide range as an actor as evident by his diversity of roles and is known for picking out unique and interesting projects.”
