John Krokidas has signed on to direct Lionsgate’s adaptation of WONDER. Based on R.J. Palacio’s book of the same name, the YA drama follows a boy with facial deformities who encounters bullying when he goes to public school for the first time in fifth grade. Jack Thorne penned the scrip, which is being produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman under their Mandeville Films banner.
Krokidas only recently made his feature directorial debut with the Allen Ginsberg/Jack Kerouac biopic “Kill Your Darlings” starring Daniel Radcliffe. Next up, he’ll reunite with Radcliffe for comedy “Young Americans,” which centers on a young Karl Rove desperately seeking the position of chief campus conservative under the guidance of Lee Atwater.
Young Americans was formerly called College Republicans.
