HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS on Broadway – Performance Preview!
Billie, the editor for Time Out New York magazine sent us an article about John who also talks about Dan in his Interview. Here’s a snip it of the interview the rest you can read at the site.
What drew you to this particular Broadway play?
It was the first one offered to me, quite honestly. When I realized Boston Legal was going to be ending, I said to my, um, my peeps, “Let’s not pursue another television series right away. I’d like to go to New York and meet some people and see if that’s a possibility in my life. I’m not getting any younger.” Then the Off Broadway show was offered, and [I thought] Off Broadway would be a good way to bust half my hymen with New York. So I did that and then went back to L.A. and kept saying no to bad television series. Then, all of a sudden, the call came and said they’re going to do this show with Daniel Radcliffe, and I immediately said yes.
Because of D-Rad?
Partially because of that. I love cute young men, [Laughs] and I was infatuated with the play. As a child I remember seeing it. I love [original leading man] Robert Morse, and my wife and I happened to be in New York during the last revival with Matthew Broderick and saw that. And I thought, with Dan, this was going to have some run. My sister-in-law and my niece saw him in Equus in London, and they said he was very good.
Daniel Radcliffe has been honoured with a Hero award for his support of the Trevor Project, which aims to prevent suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered young people.
The Harry Potter star said he thinks the public and financial support for the US non-profit organization is one of the most important things he has been associated with during his career.
Since 2009, the actor has appeared in numerous public service announcements for the organization, which was founded in 1998 by filmmakers James Lecesne, Peggy Rajski and Randy Stone.

Call it Black Swan-lite: Daniel Radcliffe spent the last year taking 17 hours of voice and dance lessons a week in order to shake his moneymaker as corporate ladder-climber J. Pierrepont Finch in the upcoming musical comedy revival How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, which opens on Broadway March 27. But though his character may be as ambitious as Natalie Portman’s — in a matter of weeks, he goes from window washer to ad exec — his tale is much more fun and games, or, should we say, song and dance: “Finch is a symbol of drive without any kind of maliciousness,” says Radcliffe. “There’s an innocence to him, which is quite endearing. You forgive a lot of his actions that would otherwise be considered quite manipulative and unpleasant.”

THE most famous 21-year-old on the planet came barreling into a West Village diner one wintry February morning, desperately craving Belgian waffles. He was bleary eyed, scruffy and stubbly but energetic despite the early hour, and slightly winded after rushing from the previous restaurant chosen for him, which was closed because of a gas leak.
Slipping unnoticed into a backup location that presented no imminent threat of explosion, he winkingly acknowledged his morning’s travails — “You were trying to kill me, weren’t you?” he said through a smile — and before tearing into the breakfast that would power him through that day’s rehearsals for his new Broadway musical, offered the following warning:
“You will see me probably drink an obscene amount of maple syrup. I’ve never had maple syrup before about three weeks ago, and now I could freebase it. Pints of it.”

Bosses at Warner Bros. have reportedly paid out half a million dollars to ensure Daniel Radcliffe is free to promote the final Harry Potter movie later this year (11).
The second installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is due to open in London in July (11), but the film’s star Radcliffe is signed up to appear in this year’s revival of Broadway play How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
It means the actor might not have been available to fulfil promotion duties for the closing chapter in the wizard franchise – so Warners chiefs have reportedly stitched up a deal to “buy” the Hirschfeld Theatre, where the play is staged, for up to five nights to keep Radcliffe free.
A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “This is the final film, so it’s a big deal. A grand world premiere is being planned as well as a U.S. premiere and a press tour. They absolutely couldn’t do it without their big star. But the theatre producers dug their heels in and said they wouldn’t release Radcliffe unless Warner bought out the entire theater for the nights they need him.
“Studio bosses are furious, but they have no choice but to pay up for five nights costing over $500,000.”
A spokesman for Radcliffe tells the publication, “Everything is fine, Dan is promoting the film and is happy to do so. With all productions there are scheduling issues but everything has all been worked out. Warner Bros. is very supportive of Dan, and there is no issue.”
