Daniel helps raise money for children with a terminal illness
Marcie / Nov 26th, 2018

The Harry Potter star has narrated a two-minute fundraising film for the charity Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which helps youngsters with terminal conditions from Kent, East Sussex and south east London to live a full life.

Radcliffe, who is currently starring in the play The Lifespan Of A Fact on Broadway, said: “Demelza is a charity very close to my heart, having been a supporter for many years now, and I jumped at the opportunity to voice this inspirational video.

“A short life should be the fullest of them all so please watch, share and donate to Demelza to help children with terminal conditions and their loved ones make the most of the precious time they have together.”

In the film, Radcliffe, who is a Demelza vice president, poses the question of what it means to live a full life.

#FullLife hashtag is shared on social media every day, but then he asks what it means for a child with a terminal condition.

He continues with the message that Demelza believes a short life should be the fullest of them all.

The film makes a play on other often-used social media hashtags such as #OOTD, #MeTime, #Love, #NoLimits and #Xmas, and what it means for the children that the charity cares for.

The actor has been a long-time supporter and donor to Demelza, which provides special care and emotional support for babies, children and teenagers with a terminal condition and for families facing the likelihood that their child will live a short life.

The charity operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing care in their hospices or at a child’s home, tailored to the child and parent’s individual needs, as well as supporting the child’s brothers, sisters and grandparents.

Tom talks about his Co-Stars on Bustle
Marcie / Nov 25th, 2018

It’s no secret Felton cherishes his time spent filming the Harry Potter movies, in addition to the friendships he made on set. As he told People about staying in touch with his former co-stars,

“It’s all a lie, we hate each other and we’re all absolute bastards! No, everyone is really sweet. I was lucky enough the last few months to see Daniel [Radcliffe] on Broadway, he’s doing well. He is always inspiring with his work choices and his outlook on life. I saw Emma [Watson] recently and had a little day on the beach.”

Regarding Felton going to see Radcliffe on Broadway, the two even took a photo backstage at The Lifespan of a Fact in New York City. Felton was kind enough to share the picture on Instagram, in which he captioned, “Go see it. He’s fantastic as per @lifespanofafact.”

Theater Gone Wrong
Marcie / Nov 23rd, 2018

Daniel Radcliffe made his Broadway musical debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in the 2011 revival of the Frank Loesser musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. In the show, Radcliffe’s character is a window washer who climbs the corporate ladder with the aid of a self-help book and not much else. In this edition of our Theater Gone Wrong series, Radcliffe remembers the antics of one overzealous How to Succeed… ensemble member who managed to fail at his musical theater entrance by trying a little too hard.

The Lifespan of a Fact’ extends invite to President Trump — as a teaching moment
Marcie / Nov 20th, 2018

The producers of Daniel Radcliffe’s Broadway show about truth in journalism are extending a formal invite to President Trump and the First Lady — as a teaching moment.

“While we respect how you like to challenge facts, to create ‘alternative facts,’ we invite you to spend ninety minutes with us and face this hot button issue head on, in the dark, in a theater, of all places,” reads the invite from producers Jeffrey Richards, Deanna Twain and Will Trice.

The producers also suggested that Trump might learn how to better spot “fake news” about himself after seeing the show. They appealed to Trump’s history as a Broadway player to make their invite more alluring. In 1970, Trump, then 23, invested in the comedy “Paris is Out!” which fizzled out after fewer than 100 performances.

What 6 Harry Potter actors took from the set – and one who tried (and failed)
Marcie / Nov 20th, 2018

Even when filming had finished on final outing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the cast and crew were largely stopped from taking any mementos from the set.

However, that didn’t stop certain members of the cast from getting their own unique souvenir – or three in some cases – from their time filming on the series. But it seems that wands were generally a no-go “so they didn’t end up on eBay”, according to Warwick Davis.

But what was taken from the set? Here’s six of the stars with their tales.

1. Daniel Radcliffe

It’s probably only fair that Daniel Radcliffe was one of the few actors from the Harry Potter universe that was given a keepsake from the set.

Even better, he’s got two that symbolise how much he grew up while working on the movies: Harry’s glasses from the first movie and the seventh movie. “The ones from the first film are absolutely tiny now, but they are very sweet,” he explained.

“They are all lens-less as well. There was rarely ever any glass in the actual glasses, because of filming problems with reflections.”
