Radcliffe appears alongside Australian actor Daniel Webber (“The Dirt”). The pair play freedom fighters Tim Jenkin and Stephen Lee, who were jailed in 1978 for being involved in covert anti-apartheid operations. Ian Hart (“God’s Own Country”), Mark Leonard Winter (“Cleverman”) and Nathan Page (“Underbelly”) also star.

Based on a true story, the film follows Jenkin and Lee – joined by a fellow inmate – as they decide to escape from prison. After months of planning, and in a race against time as the authorities strengthen the prison’s security, they craft wooden keys for the numerous steel doors between them and freedom. Directed by Francis Annan, it is based on Jenkin’s autobiography “Inside Out: Escape From Pretoria Prison.” Annan co-wrote the screenplay with LH Adam.

Momentum will release the film theatrically in the U.S. and Canada. The deal was negotiated by John Fremes and Michelle Krumm on behalf of Arclight, and Dylan Wilcox for Momentum Pictures, which is an eOne company.

On January 27, 2020 Dan will join Alan Cumming for Samuel Beckett’s Endgame and Rough for Theatre II. Endgame was originally played by Michael Gambon and David Thewlis . This was announced via the Old Vic’s Facebook page for Season 5.

Dan will play Clov – Hamm’s servant; unable to sit. Taken in by Hamm as a child. Hamm will be played by Alan Cumming who is unable to stand and blind.

Nothing stirs outside. In a bare room, Hamm, an old, blind tyrant, is locked in a stalemate with his servant Clov. Interrupted only by the nostalgic musings of Hamm’s ancient, dustbin-dwelling parents, this bleakly funny double act cling stubbornly to their routine of casual savagery and mutual dependence.

Miles is a socially awkward, easily intimidated loner who spends his days in a deadend job, pining for his beautiful ex-girlfriend Nova. His mundane existence is turned upside down when he finds himself enrolled on a dark net website that forces complete strangers to fight in a city-wide game of death, so that their gladiatorial battles can be live-streamed worldwide to a fanatical, blood-lusting audience.

The contestants are chosen by a clandestine snuff film gang known as Schism, who handicap the weaker contestants to make the contest even more compelling. In Miles’s case, twin handguns are bolted onto his hands, which although great for killing, is less helpful for more day-to-day tasks. Miles is pitted against Nix, a seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Armed to the teeth, she carves a path of destruction through the city in pursuit of the cowardly Miles.

Miles’s lifetime of running from his problems initially pays off when he manages to elude Nix rather than fight. But when Nova is kidnapped, he must stop running and overcome his fear to fight for the girl he loves.

An inspired, contemporary take on the iconic action movies of the 80’s and 90’s, GUNS AKIMBO is an adrenaline soaked balls-to-the-wall action comedy in the tradition of Kick-Ass, The Terminator and Deadpool.

Earlier this week STX acquired the rights for distribution in the US for Playmobil the Movie.

STX’s Jordan Lichtman and Carolyn Steinmetz negotiated the deal with former Studiocanal and Global Road exec Rodolphe Buet who is now at On Animation, which is owned by French media firm Mediawan.

“Playmobil: The Movie is an action-packed animated adventure led by a fantastic cast and the inimitable Lino DiSalvo,” said Adam Fogelson, Chairman of STXfilms. “We’re thrilled to partner with On Animation Studios on this fun and original project, and look forward bringing a fresh take on the iconic Playmobil toy to the big screen for audiences across the U.S.”
