Today we celebrate a man that brought us all together. He is a wonderful man with so much interests even we lost track. But he surprises us everyday and it is with good intentions that we bring him another happy birthday gift we all helped in putting together. Daniel Radcliffe is a special person whom without him we would never have laughter, happiness and the joy of being who we are. So I wanna wish him a very Happy birthday as another year passes. This year SDR added a personal touch to the birthday video for Dan. We shared our pictures taken with Dan and photos we took of him. I also added personal footage I’ve been holding onto since 2013 with Dane DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe at Universal when he was on Extra. So with your greetings and birthday wishes and words you will be able to see all that tomorrow. Including our online book.
I wanna thank everyone that participated. I couldn’t have done it without you. I worked on two projects this month one for Horns star Mitchell Kummen (Young Ignatius) and the one for Daniel Radcliffe. Daniel Radcliffe stopped by the NYLON offices recently, taking over for part of the day as a front-desk receptionist. None of the staff was made aware that he would be there in advance. NYLON employees got a shock and Radcliffe got stressed out – as well as a bit of a shock himself by a visit from Joe Jonas. Check out the hilarious 4-minute video below.

From the afternoon things went nonstop all day. Lots of Press was done from various sources and I will list those sources down below. Its a milestone for us as we reached over 80,000 images. “We shall create life out of death,” says James McAvoy in the first Victor Frankenstein trailer. The preview is packed with special effects and action, as McAvoy’s Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe’s Igor work together to create a monster. The trailer is incredibly entertaining and — more surprising — it’s very funny. “It’s alive!” Igor whispers at one point. “Yes, well, that’s rather obvious” responds Dr. Frankenstein.
Radcliffe, McAvoy and director Paul McGuigan then took to the stage. Radcliffe and McAvoy had great chemistry together, although McAvoy joked that it’s really a movie about him abusing Daniel Radcliffe. And what’s the point of the movie? “Just trying to build a big monster, man,” says McAvoy.
We then saw a clip from the film in which Frankenstein attempts to create life in front of his peers. After accidentally electrocuting himself and causing a bug infestation to erupt from his monster, his attempts to bring his zombie-monkey to life actually work. This is followed by a scene in which Igor looks for the creature and it attacked by it — but it seems as if there might be some scenes in between these two that were cut out.

In this interview Andy Hull discusses what he’s doing for a film called Swiss Army Man, an absurdist comedy, where a hopeless man stranded in the wilderness befriends a dead body and together they go on a journey to get home.
EN: Oh awesome! I know you’re really into movies so that must be a dream come true.
AH: That’s exactly it! I had no idea what I was going to do this year, which is weird because I’ve always had it planned out. And then my friends who did the Simple Math video, the DANIELS, they’re two guys named Daniel, got a movie deal. They did this Sundance Lab thing and they asked me to write all of the music for it. It’s kind of part musical and it’s a really crazy experience. We’re pretty deep into that.
EN: Is it mostly instrumental.
AH: There’s actually no instruments on it. It’s all vocals.
EN: Wow that sounds really cool, I’m really excited to hear that. What is the movie called?
AH: It’s called Swiss Army Man.
EN: Man, that sounds really interesting.
AH: It’s been the coolest music I’ve ever made, because it’s so out there. All we use is our voice and body, there’s like body percussion and stuff.
EN: How deep are you into the process? Is it done?
AH: No it’s not done yet. We’re going to be working on it pretty much all year. It hasn’t been filmed yet, so we have to write as they go along because the actors are going to be singing a lot of it.

The way James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe talk about Victor Frankenstein, it sounds less like an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel and more of an amalgamation of every version since then.
Radcliffe’s character, Igor, wasn’t even in the novel but emerged as a pop culture touchstone from the 1931 movie Frankenstein (in which he was named Fritz). This new film, directed by Paul McGuigan (Wicker Park, is seen through the eyes of Igor, who is the assistant to Dr. Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and also one of his experiments.
“It’s about creation, and Victor is not only creating this monster but in a sense Igor, who in the beginning of the movie is living in abject conditions and considered less than human,” Radcliffe says.
A combustible friendship forms.
“Victor’s ego means that at times he thinks he’s superior to Igor,” McAvoy says. “Their relationship is close, loving, abusive, manipulative, and it turns on a dime.”

Like with your VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN script?
ML: Yeah, FRANKENSTEIN was changed quite a bit from my original script. Most of the dialogue is from my actual script, but the order things happen and the reasons why they happen have been altered by production. Certain contextual scenes have been changed or deleted, that give other scenes context. But I thought it was beautifully made with really good acting. It’s weird to sit in the audience and watch a movie that I wrote. I’m unable to see my movies, because I just see the way they were in my head.

Indie flick Swiss Army Man picked up a strong trio for its leads: Daniel Radcliffe, Paul Dano, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It is unknown who will play who in the film. Shooting begins July 13. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert will direct the film. The Tadmor Group and Cold Iron Pictures will co-finance and produce.

Swiss Army Man started out as a silly short film idea years ago involving a stranded guy riding a dead body’s farts off of an island like a jet ski. That was it. Then we started trying to come up with some sort of story that would give us an excuse to do that in a movie and we accidentally wrote a really deeply personal story. Now it’s become this puzzle of a story that still fascinates us. And it’s sort of the ultimate feature-sized example of the narrative and visual roller coaster movies we’ve been working on the past few years together. It’s gonna’ be our Apocalypse Now, where we disappear into the forest for weeks and lose our minds and discover who we are as men.
